Yes, I to like to claim to coach chess players, and then when anyone questions how I can teach people chess when I dont play it myself, I just make baseless insults at their intelligence and be overly offended.

Its a rough life, but if there werent insane people who're totally detached from reality like us, then what would hollywood base their movies on am i rite?

Despite what you thought a few moments ago; it is common for someone to teach something they don't actually practice themselves. It also goes alone with the expression "you can't see the forest through the trees" which is an idiom meaning; if you are to close to a problem you can't see it well enough to solve it. I help them understand everything they miss while strengthening their fundamentals.
I am a bit rusty though.

Did you not really read what has been said or can you just not comprehend it? What I said makes perfect sense but I guess if your reading level is lower than the national average you won't get it.
