Want to be a part of a community?
Hello everyone,
First, a bit about me.
My name is Travis! For a long time I've been the Vice President of my school's League of Legends club, and coordinator of our uLoL team. However, nothing lasts forever. I'm about to graduate, meaning that I won't be able to fill either of those positions any more.
But the fact is that I simply can't be done with Esports. It's too much fun, and I like doing it way too much. In the beginning, when I originally joined the club at my school, I had no idea that I was about to discover my biggest passion. So what's the solution?
I'm starting a new community from scratch, and calling it Risen Esports.
Here's an idea of what I was able to get done during my time with my schools club:
- Grew membership base by triple.
- Started our first venture into Esports by enrolling and competing in uLoL.
- Created an LCS style league for our campus.
- Hosted streams for those matches.
- Hosted streams for charity events.
And here's a list of what you can expect if you choose to be a part of the community:
- New friends and people to play with
- LCS style leagues for different skill levels (in the future I would like all of these games to be streamed): -- Bronze/Silver -- Gold/Plat -- Diamond+ (eventually)
- Tons of memes
- Charity events
I'd also like to touch on what I want to do with Risen Esports, and what I foresee going into the future. At it's core, I want to have a strong community of fun people. That's all there is to it. However, in the future, I'd like to grow an actual competitive division, and start having our best teams/players join in on some real competitive fun. Also, in the future I would like to facilitate some healthy competition between us and other amateur communities. To name a couple that I have in mind, Ascension Esports and HouseParty5v5.
Risen Esports is just getting started, which means if you join soon, you will be an important part of growing an awesome community. Right now, I'm the only staff, so anyone interested in helping me get this off the ground... I would love to hear from you!
