Manager looking for serious team (see thread)

Hello, My name is Tony and I am an experienced manager looking forward to picking up some community talent to try and eventually enter the challenger series by riot. Background: I started league of legends directly after its beta stage with a few friends who played MoBAs from Warcraft 3. I eventually retracted from league and started college. When I came back for break, I found most of my friends in the competitive league scene. They played for complexity back when season 1 first started and when competitive league first bloomed. Well that started my career in management due to the fact that I was too far behind my friends to join competitive and my schedule prevented me to practice full time to join a team. I figured the next best thing is to manage a competitive team and continue to grow my league knowledge as well as the back end of competitive gaming.

Teams that I managed: NOTE: I will keep this list to actual teams I had a hand in, NOT just organizations I joined and take credit for. unR: Unrestricted was the first organization I joined and in which I became the marketing director then eventually the Vice-President. The most famous team, which eventually became team curse was there before I joined and I do not take any credit for recruiting them. They unfortunately left shortly after but due to their success I did make some sponsorship contacts.

There was also another lineup that consisted of our B lineup which I took to another gaming organization due to our success.

Breaking up: As unR was a big operation and competitive league became increasingly more expensive, we found that we could not up keep at the pace we were going at and decided to part ways, only keeping some teams then eventually dissolving unR due to life obligations in upper management.

After unR I did not have much reason to go on but the fact that the B lineup that we recruited was doing well and gained some attention with underrated gaming, whose previous successful lineup who had streaming star azingy just left. I eventually became director of the league of legends team and continued push forward.

Last but not least, the most successful team besides unR, is doublebuff gaming. For a long story short, my oldest league friend who happened to be a successful mid player nubbypoohbear, was a part of an amateur competitive league team who had very high potential, the 1trickponies. We agreed on an arrangement and we continued our partnership under our organization name. We had great success in the promos of the LCS tournament, falling short to very hard competition.

Okay so you gave us all this info, give us the point already? So I know this is quite a bit of info and I am in no way using this to try and convince anyone. I am simply giving a short resume, so I can get started without introducing myself to every team.

Looks like you failed quite a bit, you sure you can do this? While most of the achievements were not as impressive as the top LCS teams, I believe that I gave it my all (so did the teams I managed, they were awesome!) and competitive management is NO WAY EASY. You see very successful teams who are even in the LCS, falter. The nature of this sport is based off success and if it is not maintained, extreme pressure is put on teams. So before judging, please take that into consideration.

Okay, so I can just find someone just like you. You aren’t special! While I do know this and trust me there are a ton of managers who are even more talented than me, I am doing this because I LIKE IT! I enjoy starting from the bottom up and from the previous teams that I managed, we did exactly that. No fancy corporate sponsors at our backs to lure players, just pure negotiation and hard work!

What makes you different? For one, I am here to simply make the team’s life easier and handle all the negotiations as well as help with schedules/organization. I want to help build a brand, from the bottom up and try to get the underdog teams into the open. I will not ask for contracts or payment for what I do, I am here for the team. Like I said I enjoy this and I will eventually want to build a brand.

Requirements to build a team or for preexisting teams: Diamond 1+: this is a basic requirement as competitive is usually composed of master and challenger players but I do understand people work better in teams and that soloq is a terror

Good work ethic and takes criticism well: I really want to like the people I work with so while I will not be coaching or offering advice in terms of game play. I do need the team to be compliant to what I am asking so we can build relations with other companies!

Organized and wanting to improve: If a team doesn’t follow or want to follow an organized schedule, then there is no point for me or what we are trying to accomplish. Also I like to see new teams that are hungry and want to make a statement. If they lose, they want to know why and make practices around it and if they win they are humble. This makes for team longevity and good all-around rapport in the league community.

Trust in me: While I know it’s been awhile since I managed, I will try my best to give us room to grow.
