Hey great. The real requirement is having a name that follows the pattern TK [your name]. So if you would prefer to do a name change on a level 30 account that also works. The rest of the team chose to create new accounts for several reasons ranging from the free name change to free skin for your one trick champion to the streamlining of having runes, masteries, etc. while playing on the account.
But again if you would prefer a name change thats fine, but the format TK [name] is required.
