「Raw Adventure」[LFM][LGBT+ friendly :D~]

Hello Summoners, Tomasi (call me Tom) here, wondering if anyone would like to be part of a team. We are LGBT+ friendly! I say this because there aren't enough openly queer players in this game. We want you to know you are in a friendly/supportive environment and that we encourage you to be yourself. In addition we are open minded and friendly individuals that want to form a competitive team to play together next year. We are serious about teamwork and will work through any problems we face together as a team, we are all equal regardless of current member's seniority. Roles will be discussed, no one is guaranteed a role until we are all together and have decided who is best suited where. So far we are just trying people out, if we work well together, we'll let you know! We want to have fun, but will take this as seriously as you do. It's a game and of course we will try our best, but the important thing to remember is to have fun. We do not believe in tilt or bad games. Your emotional state has a lot more to do with life than the game does. Bad plays are what make a game an experience to be had rather than just "a bad game." Perhaps the team composition isn't that great compared to the enemy teams or you made bad plays, you learn from them! You break those bad habits over time and we're willing to help each other accomplish something great. "Haste makes waste," as they say. So take your time we're here to support each other.

Requirements:

  1. Honest
  2. Supportive
  3. Friendly
  4. Willing to adapt
  5. Understands game mechanics/keeps up with patch notes
  6. Believes in the heart of the cards
  7. Platinum preferred, Gold welcome (Seasoned veteran? Even better!)

About the player: I like animals, sushi and drawing. I'm not sure how to drive stick and if I'm not listening to music, I enjoy peace and quiet. If I had to guess which role I would be playing with you, it would be support or jungle. Add me if you're interested! (Tomasi) We hope to hear from you.

Can you stop pushing your personal agenda already.

Sincerely, an openly gay league of legends player.

It is not as if everyone needs to be queer, merely stating a fact. I'm sorry if that comment made you feel uncomfortable. Feel free to apply.

LOL What.. I'm aware you're plat 3, and your positive attitude may be part of what lead you to where you are. But that isn't realistic or factually accurate. But its likely your attitude that helps you succeed. Not that being true.

I find it a bit insensitive that you need to bait people into your team by saying "[LGBT+ friendly :D~]" to people who even support that. Are you saying most people are not friendly to these types of people? Why do you need to pander to them as if they need you to pander? Most league teams I've ever joined have been the most inclusive of any community I've ever been a part of.

Good luck on your team though, no harsh feelings.

it makes sense, im in the lgbt community and am looking for a ranked team, but specifically searched for lgbt in the form, so i can be sure im not joining a team that will show me ignorance when they inevitably find out.

I don't know what you're talking about. Most teams I've joined (every one actually..) Have had gay members or at least bisexual, or people who just were uniquely different. You fail to realize that this is a game where your sexuality doesn't matter, we're all just trying to win in the end. I don't know what you're talking about you make it sound as if we are against gay or transgender parts of the league community. Quite the opposite! Sure there are children who troll and say stuff but the league community is easily the most accepting of these people, because as a league player we only care about how good you are, and winning.

That in my mind, makes all teams accepting of the lgbt stands for. Because we're all just trying to win at the game.

I believe people just like to seek out those who are similar to them, it feels most comfortable. But I agree, this community is very accepting, I'm transgender myself and havent experienced to much hate. But I think its valuable to see the perspective where someone would prefer to play with people in their own community who they can better relate to.

Exactly, but if you've ever joined a random Skype call with people and they're using slurs, it's not the best feeling in the world. And I would prefer not to have to spend time turning people's moral compass. Obviously I know what matters in the game (having fun), but I want to make certain that they know they are in a safe space. Time's may be changing, but you'd be surprised how many people cling to "tradition" for "tradition's sake." I set the standards for the team, I added in that we are LGBT+ friendly, not that they need to be of the LGBT+ community. I am bi and the other member in our team is straight, it is not a big deal to everyone, but words have power. The word heteronormativity for example, that most people assume someone is "straight" because of the world we live in. So, I'm going to float the word LGBT+ as much as I can because it's nice knowing we exist. There is no harm in it, there is no ill intention, it is just letting the people know. Hey, we are here.

And still recruiting, all aboard!
