However if you wanna control the game, the first step is vision, get a pink ward sightstone and red trinket asap. Remind your teammates to get pinks as well and to use and update their trinkets.

Keep an eye on monster timers, countdown 60 and 30 in chat and ping the place.

Start with the main things a support is supposed to do. Ward and stick with/protect your adc. I'd choose a support that heals to start(sona, soraka, nami, taric) and stay behind/beside your adc or someone who is fairly easy(leona/lulu). Make sure you know that you are not supposed to steal cs from your adc. Make sure you are not picking a mage as a support because most of the time they do not work(annie, vel, lux). People try to play the mage support because the LCS but for low elo it does not work and just makes the game easier for the enemy. I hope this helps a little, I am not a support main but I've been around for a while and I try to help. If nothing I said works then I am sorry for giving you advice.
