Zed or Ekko? Who should i buy ?

Alright I want to know who should i buy? Ekko or Zed - depending on the damage ratio and these opinions:

• My thoughts on Zed

+Good Stuff:

  • He's AD (Meaning that when u lose Energy u can rely on Auto Attacks
  • High Burst
  • Better health than Ekko
  • His Ulti combo is great for 1v1

-- Bad Stuff:

  • His Abilities are boring ( combos is what i mean) - not as much potential as Ekko -Bad at escapes (i think)

•My thoughts on Ekko

+Good Stuff

  • His Passive is good when u don't have mana - but i don't think the damage is good
  • When someone is running u can use Ekkos E to blink to the target dealing extra damage
  • His W is great for stuns and slows + shield
  • His Q is just great for AoE
  • Ulti is great for Health Regen and MASSIVE AoE

--Bad Stuff:

  • When ur mana is drained u can't really rely on AD considering he's an AP champ
  • OR when ur abilities are on cooldown u cant rely on AD as well
  • Very squishy

•Side note for Ekko - i don't really know if his mana drains that fats - please tell me! Also, as i mentioned in the text - u cant rely on Ekko when his mana is drained/abilities on cooldown - by that what i want to know is can u rely on Auto Attacks to kill someone when he's on half health or 40% lower?

•What i want to know

  • Who does more damage with Auto Attacks
  • Who can be more reliable when Energy/Mana is drained OR if abilities are on cooldown
  • Who has more health
  • Who's better at killing multiple enemies (if Ekko/Zed is alone and 2/3 enemies are champions are chasing him who can do better Ekko or Zed?
  • AND Who is more exciting to play?

Currently, Ekko is more viable with the top lane fervor + triforce build. He has a higher winrate, but as a result is more likely to be banned. People are still scared of zed although he winrate is below average and he is still banned alot. This preseason we know that zed will likely get some changes, while ekko we are still unsure. Really I would say it matter if you want to play Ekko know, knowing that he may be nerfed in the near future. It all depends if you want to go the since target assasin of zed or toplane split push and teamfighter of Ekko.

I have 700k on Zed and can confirm that he is not boring. I would say he has more potential and different combos than Ekko , but both are very flexible and have much potential to make plays.

Both have a very strong escape on their Ults. Ekko's most damage comes from his passive, you'll have to work around that.

Also, his W gives him bonus Damage with his autos on low life targets, so even if he is not AD, Ekko is still focused around auto attacks.

Who does more damage with Auto Attacks

Usually Zed as he is AD and because of his passive, but Ekko needs to aa too to be effective because of his passive, e, and w passive.

Who can be more reliable when Energy/Mana is drained OR if abilities are on cooldown

Both have problems in such a situation, it always depends. Ekko has his aa bonus damage from his W and Zed has strong AA's because he is AD. Both are not completly useless without abilities but both rely on them because of their mobility.

Who has more health

Depends on Build, check lolwiki when you want to check base stats.

Who's better at killing multiple enemies (if Ekko/Zed is alone and 2/3 enemies are champions are chasing him who can do better Ekko or Zed?

Depends on how low the enemies are. Both have a strong cleanup, but i would say Zed is better at cleaning up because of his 2 mobility Abilities and movement speed from item 3142. But always depends on how fed you are and how you play out your strengths.

AND Who is more exciting to play?

my personal opinion is definitly Zed, but Ekko also makes fun. both have very flexible kits with tons of ways to play them.

What role do you main? Ekko can basically go any role other than supp (I usually play him top or bot, but he's a viable jungler and very good mid). I believe Zed can do that too-but he excels immensely at Mid lane. Also, what skillcap or skill level are you looking for? Ekko's abilities focus more on timing (3 sec delay on W, I believe), while Zed's focus on positioning (His shadow). Zed does get banned a lot, but a bad Ekko is, well, very very bad for the team. Zed is is mainly an AD champ, while Ekko is an AD-AP hybrid depending on how you build him. A well-build Zed is almost a guaranteed win for mid lane-preferring quick kills and roaming to help others. Ekko prefers to stun and slow-and then attack-so kills won't be as quick as Zed's. With Zed, you really have to aim right-so some skill in knowing how to play a marksmen would be good (especially for his Q). With Ekko, the basic direction is good enough (Q expands, W and E apply to area of effect). I've only ever played Ekko, so I can really only give advice on him. His ult is a lifesaver-even more than Kindred's (and trust me, I main them). Ekko's cast range is pretty big, so I like to start off early-game with some nice 'hiding-in-a-bush' and throw out his Q for minions and W for champs. With mid and late game, his E and ult become very important, and he can launch himself into the middle of a fight. He's a very durable and flexible champ-but you need patience. You have to wait until mid game-before that, he can still get quite squishy. Zed is like a tiny Azir. Good Zed is amaaaazing! Bad Zed-is worse than 'Ekko-bad'. A bad Zed does punish quite hard, so you really need to know what you're doing before you do it. You need to play his combos right-and your play will be amazing. With Ekko...it usually works if you just throw it out there in a nice random combo. Be sure to predict for his W though! Who does more damage with Auto Attacks Probably Zed.
