Dear League of Legends addicts, I propose to you: Infinity Gaming Community.
Hi there, ya boi kaneki here. If you clicked on this thread you're at least somewhat interested in gaming communities, and since I'm sure you've heard dozens of proposals I'll keep this relatively short for those of you out there with little time or a brief attention span. Thus, I've included at the top a "TLDR" version, and right after a more detailed look at what I'm going to do with this community, and why.
"TLDR": In short, Infinity Gaming will be a simple League of Legends Gaming community focused on building friendships and bolstering them through community events on a sharp and nourishing platform invigorated by a friendly environment. Sounds pretty generic, right? Let me give some basics as to what you can expect to see in Infinity Gaming when it's launched...
-Weekly (Prized) tournaments. (Shoutcasted, streamed, RP prizes). -Interactive Facebook Community. -Raidcall platform to promote friendships focused on interests. -A staff and management to support growth and ideas, while regulating a fun and safe environment. -An interactive website full of shenanigans.
These are just some of the things you'll see in Infinity gaming, with more to come I'm sure, but this is a good starting point! I plan on launching to community in around 2 months time (this gives me enough time to set up management and staff to ensure everything is running accordingly). After two months, we'll be launching with a huge tourney with exceedingly large prizes relative to start up communities. At this time I'm looking for management and positions of all kinds to fill what's needed to get the community running. I have a plan set out, but now need all the positions filled to ensure things can get running by my two month time frame. "Non-TLDR" Whew, okay now that the short stuff is out of the way I want to let anyone reading this know how much I appreciate you even taking the time to read this, but I assure you if you stick around it'll be worth it. If you've read this far you're somewhat interested in the community and just being apart of it (Good on you!! But at the moment I'm really looking for positions to be filled in management and staff), or you're interested in being apart of the staff/management (yes, yes you awesome devil, 'merica needs more people like you. He he he). Either way, allow me to introduce myself a bit before I ramble on about what I'm looking to do and why...
So, I'm a 21 year old male who spends an exceedingly large amount of his time on the online world. I'm probably pretty old in terms of the league of legends community, probably in the upper percentile at least. I've been playing since season 2 and have probably played over 2000 games and have barely reached Platinum. Essentially, I'm not very good at the game, but I enjoy playing it alot. For all these years I've spent playing this game I've really not gotten anything out of it other than fun, and while I think that's important I want to do more with the community as a whole... really put a dent in there. You see, I think alot of the league of legends community is trying really hard to make something out of it. Everyone is trying to get better and get higher on the ladder, when in reality only like... .001 percent of people are actually going to do something professionally with this game. But just because you can't play in the NFL doesn't mean you can't play High School Football. And that's what I want out of my community. High school football.
You see, I spend on average at least 3 hours a day on the computer, and while I have quite a few friends online, it's pretty rare when we're all on at the same time. Alot of the time, I'll see myself spending 3 hours playing Solo Queue, and while that's fun it's not what I want out of League of Legends, I'd much rather hop online, join a raidcall, and have plenty of people just waiting to play games with others just as I am. When I say I want my community to be like High School Football, I mean that I want people to be able to get together and toss a ball around and have some fun without the pressure of thinking if you lose the whole world comes crashing down, because in ranked and hell, even in draft people take the game way too seriously. That's what High School Football is, just a couple guys getting together on a Friday night to have some fun and try to win, and even if they don't it doesn't really matter.
Anyways... that's what I want out of Infinity Gaming. A place where people can come to play with friends and get to know each other. A place where instead of queuing up into 9 strangers, you can readily play with 9 other people you've gotten to know over the course of the year. League of Legends is so divided and impersonal nowadays, you wouldn't believe the type of stuff I see in Solo Queue chat, you all know that feeling. I say it's time we all just got together and had some fun, and stopped wasting our time getting frustrated at not knowing the faces behind the champions in our games. This is the type of environment I want to have in Infinity Gaming. Family. I want to create a friendly environment where friendships can flourish.
