Peak Gaming Solo Draft League Registration Closing In Two Days. All Tiers Wanted!!!
Hello, My name is Strauscon. I am the Head Coordinator for Peak Gaming. We are hosting Solo Draft League over the next couple of days for each individual tier. The format of our league is a little different when compared to others so I will go over it now, but if you just don't care the links for signup and FAQ are below. Players have the option to signup as either a solo player or a team captain. Team captains are able to draft their teams from their respective tier, but there are a few rules to help even out teams and prevent issues. First, a player must agree to play with a specific captain. Captains are not able to force a player to play for their team. Second, captains must abide by what we call the 15 point rule. Each team has 15 points to work with in which they can add players to their team. Point cost for a single player is assigned based on their division in their respective tier. For instance, a Silver V player costs 1 point, a Silver IV player costs 2 points, a Silver III player costs 3 points, a Silver II player costs 4 points, and a Silver I player costs 1 point. This point system works to prevent negative aspects of tournaments such as team stacking and a noncompetitive environment. If a Team Captain fails to draft his team before the deadline (which is this upcoming Friday 8/21) he/she is entered into the player pool for our random draw. The random draw will abide by the 15 point rule and will consider preferred roles when selecting the teams. After the random draw we move into the tournament itself.
The tournament is formatted so that each tier has a group stage followed by a playoff stage. The group stage will split teams in a tier so that a set amount move on to the playoff stage. Matches in the group stage will be best of 3 matches. Match times during the group stage are determined by the teams themselves. Teams will be expected to play at least one group stage match (and up to two) per week. Therefore you are only required to commit time for one best of 3 match per week. After the group stage we will have the playoff stage. Matches in the playoff stage will be best of 3 matches until the Final and 3rd place match, which will be best of 5. All playoff matches will occur at a time set by our organization (likely weekend afternoons). Playoff matches will occur once a week per team.
At the moment each tier's tournament will only begin if we receive 40 or more players per tier since Riot requires a minimum of 8 teams for prizing. Currently only the Bronze and Diamond+ tiers are at risk of not having enough players. We need 9 more Bronze players and 12 more Diamond+ players to meet the minimum requirement. However, if Friday comes and not enough players signup Bronze players will be given the option to move up to the Silver tournament while Diamond+ players will be given the same option with the Platinum tournament. We will NOT turn down any players in the tournament and ALL players are guaranteed to play in at least one group stage match if they must join a team as a sub.
Some of the group stage games will be streamed and all of the playoff matches will be as well. If you are interested in helping with the stream just join the server and bring it up.
