Team builder in ranked?

I have seen a lot of ranked games both good and bad that I have spectated or seen played at my friends house. Many times I have sat down and thought gee why isn't there a team builder mode for ranked ? It could be a test case at first and might reduce people from being mad because they did not get the lane they wanted and it throws the whole game or something to that degree. It's just a thought and I'm not sure if there could still be bans somehow. I'm not sure if it is even possible but having the ban phase in team builder I think that would mean the 2 teams would already be there . The team captains would start a regular ranked game with bans the usual amount of bans per team. However once bans finish the people who took a lane when they Queued in they would next pick a champion to play in that lane that was not banned. It would operate as a regular ranked game and a team builder aspect could be merged in . This is just a rough idea but it could work if riot wants to implement it. Right now this is just a rough thought. If Riot wants to give any thoughts on it or not I would be interested. If anyone has any ideas or thoughts or comments I am open to them.

IMHO Team Builder has more benefits than downsides... since the only two solutions to your problem are field Team Builder or have nicer players, I'ma say Team Builder.

Interesting idea. How would the picks and bans phase go? Trying to counter pick and/or build a team is half the fun of ranked for me.

Team builder completely defeats the purpose of the "draft phase". Picks/bans/counters would be completely removed and you run risk of mirror matchups.

High elo queue's are already long enough. Normal teambuild queues are long enough. No way in hell am I waiting for ranked teambuilder queues when I already have to wait 10-20 minutes for a ranked draft game. Also, if you were to take away the "mirror matchup" aspect of team builder... you're making the queues even longer.

Queue time in alone is reason enough not to do it. That's already the biggest issue with the current teambuilder. You already have to wait 15-30 minutes to get a jungler or support in team builder unless you queue with a full party, try doing that in ranked (especially high elo) as a solo queue.

The only way to implement this would be to remove ranked draft, which I personally think is a terrible idea.

I've had plenty of terrible experiences with bitter or unhappy teammates; whose attitudes and behaviour negatively affect our team's performance or synergy. If the ban phase can be handled in a team builder format (which I believe Riot can find a way to make it work), then there is no reason NOT to have team builder in ranked! If Riot does some tests, I bet they will find more positive player experiences all around.

Less item 3070 and more united teamplay and team comps. I can Garen tee that there will be less reports and more cohesive teams.

I think you would apply for a lane Instead of a specific champion. Then get into the lobby Ban 3 champs as normal and then still go your lane.

I completely agree that this needs to be at least TESTED. Because it can be a modified version of team builder. Really the ONLY thing this will fix is the arguing between what role you wanna play as. You can STILL DO Picks/Bans. -- When it comes to the queue times? They're gonna be long no matter what, I really don't see any silver-bullet fix in sight to get around that.

I completely support this idea and I think it' end a LOT of arguing and people threatening to get a role they want or they feed.

It is a game. Not everyone takes it seriously like us. I can only beg for my best lanes when my pickorder is last 2. Or what i can only do is letting other random guy pick it and watching how they feed enemies literally. I can only explain that to myself by telling me that it is just a game built by them, again and again. You cannot make them do what you really want them to do.

Having a TeamBuilder for ranked, while lots of people will vote yes, they are saying that because it's a guarantee to what they want. Which defeats the purpose of ranked. One person could be like a diamond 1 skill as a mid laner, and bronze in everything else, so they just queue as mid every game. The point of ranked is to be able to play every role at the level of play you are ranked. Making a teambuilder system for it, completely kills the purpose of ranked. Every person that voted yes, just wants to make it so they get what they want. Instead of having to prove they can play multiple roles. I'm firmly against putting a system like that in ranked, unless they make it a separate category from the normal ranked.
