Please end ranked champion selection dodge "Chicken"
When I was young we used to play this game called "chicken" where we would ride our bikes at high speeds in opposite directions directly towards one another. The first person to swerve off to the side to avoid collision and a trip to the hospital was the loser. One day, two of my stupidest friends both won and earned their trip to the hospital and I never played it again... until more recently.
Most people that play ranked are trying very hard to improve their ranked rating. Where I am in diamond division right now alot of effort is required from all 5 players to even have a passing chance of winning the game. As far as I see it queueing for ranked entails making a contract with the other 4 players to try as hard as possible for the next 20-120 minutes to win that game. Except there is a way out, and the problem is selfish players know that there is. Jerks who absolutely refuse to play anything other than a certain role, or a certain champion know that all 4 of their allies have the ability to pay 3 league points, a loss in their promotion series, and up to 30 minutes queue suspension to get out of the game during champion select. This has to be done away with.
The problem is people will select a champion that will ensure a sub-5% chance of winning the game. They know that their pick is losing their team the game and they know that everyone else on the team knows it. Their goal is not to lose, however, it is to make someone else take the hit for dodging. Riot allows us to dodge queue to protect players from being trolled but the problem is we are being trolled because of this ability. If the jerks knew with complete certainty that they would have to play the game out they would not be trolling us like they are now.
This post is probably longer than it should be. In my defense I am currently locked out of queue for a half hour because I lost champion select "chicken" one too many times today. In the interest of less trolling, better ranked games, and shorter forum posts please help me get this message to riot.
