well, since there is a night and day function in the new summoners rift map, i thought that itd be cool to add a weather feature!!! at random times in the game it could start raining, get a little windy, or maybe the aurora borealis in the northern part of the map? and maybe it could also snow? :P but i see the downfalls to this, and how it could lag the game a lot for players on a slower computer but there could be an option to just remove this. I would like to hear your thoughts on this idea and how to make it better ! :)

Wait, WHAT? o.o Where did you find such an information?

It technically does rain on certain parts of the map at certain times...

honest opinion i love this idea it would be the first ever feature in any game to have this (except evolve they have a weather feature a bit similar in a small scale when creature is evolveing ) but since they have a night a day already there they are copying a bit of Dota 2 in a way. LoL and Dota 2 are fighting pretty hard to stay in the ranking for high rateings in best MOBA anyways i love this idea. would be a great suggestion

That seems cool! But, I don't understand how snow could--

Oh, yeah. This is between Ionia & the Frelijord.

I feel weather effects would reduce visual clarity, one of the main goals of the redesigned map.

  1. who said there is a day/night feature? I clearly remember some riot messages about it saying that they'll probably NOT put that in the new map.

  2. That would be mostly useless, and greatly decrease visual clarity, which is the thing they're trying the hardest to accomplish. I mean they're working on colors, textures, models, just to improve visual clarity at its maximum, and then they're gonna throw it all up to add a bit of rain somewhere? Really don't think so.
