[New Mode for Players Interested in Learning] Introducing: Mentor System!
New game mode: Play with a Mentor
Mentee (or mentoree)
- In an interface similar to Team Builder, select any number of roles and champion
- Once you choose, you will be presented with a list of online Mentors for those roles in general
- You'll also get a list of Mentors for your specific champion in those roles
- Click on a Mentor to queue up to train with them. You can select more than one.
- Once a Mentor accepts, you will join their party and they can queue up for a match.
- Matchmaking requirements are the same as always for Duo Queue
- Chat restricted players can speak to their Mentor without a limit
- Mentees rate their training at the end of a match
Mentor
- Mentors must apply to become a mentor. Applications are approved based on several factors;
- Rank - Minimum Gold V.
- Mastery - Level 4 for specific champion training
- Restrictions - Any player with a restriction can not be a Mentor. Mentors who gain a restriction will regain the position automatically upon the end of their restriction.
- Win rate - X% win rate and Y# of wins in a role for general role training. (having 100% win rate in jungle but only having played it once isn't good enough)
- Can only Mentor players a full Tier or more below them. (G5 trains S5 and below, D1 trains P1 and below)
- Mentors may list requirements for training such as VoIP (Curse Voice, Skype, etc.) that Mentees will see and must accept before queueing.
- A Mentor group can not queue for Ranked.
- Mentors may accept multiple people at a time, but none of them are pulled into the group until all slots are filled. (A mentee doesn't have to wait for other people to join, they all join at once.)
- Rewards: Mentors don't have to do this as charity.
- Mentors will gain a special ribbon simply for being accepted. X% Mentees must rate the Mentor satisfactory each month for them to keep the ribbon.
- A large amount of IP is granted at the end of each satisfactory session
- Mentors that own every champion will work towards Riot Loyalty Rewards. idk what that might be, Riot doesn't like to give out RP because it will always get abused.
Well that's all I've got. I know there are a lot of holes in it, but I think a mentor system could be quite useful if the time was spent to patch up those holes. League would not be the first game to have a Mentor System.
