Mark/Dash isn't GOOD or BAD, it's mixed

Not planned everything I want to write but in essence:

  1. Mark/Dash does some good stuff. The good stuff it does it making underpowered ARAM champs like Skarner and Udyr more useful by giving them more engage potential. They get less bullied by people like Sona now and I don't think anyone can complain about this, because the imbalance of ranged vs melee without gapcloser was very large.

  2. Mark/Dash does some bad stuff. The problem with using something as broad as a summoner spell to fix the imbalance is that not all melees are created equal. For every Skarner using it to initiate there's a Fiora using it to get an instant kill, or there's a Maokai/Sion (statistically among the best ARAM champions already) using it as a free initiate so they can go on to shred everyone on your team who's the slightest bit squishy.

It really just feels like too broad a solution. I'm as happy as the next guy for terrible ARAM champions to get buffed but you can't ignore the fact that champions with win rates in ARAM already pushing on 60% are using it too. A lot of champions on whom Mark will be staple quite simply didn't need the help, and it feels like the imbalance of ARAM has just shifted in the opposite direction now. Instead of ranged poke dominating it's melee assassin dominating, BUT certain horrendous champions are less left out in the cold than they were before. It's probably a better situation than before the summoner spell was added but it's still very much imperfect.

In short, it's good as it finally makes melee champs like Skarner and Udyr viable in ARAM. However, it's bad cause it's spammable, random true damage, extremely short CD and long range. People are now re-rolling adc and poke champs in hopes of getting tank and melee now. And even if there is a poke champ, they pick snowball due to free constant pokes and true damage.

All it needs is adjustment. Just give it more CD and shorten the range.
