Map Asymmetry
One thing that stood out to me was how bot and top lanes, if it were not for dragon, are interchangable in terms of lane length and lead to "fair" matchups in solo queue i.e. 1v1s, 2v2s. Only in competitive do you see lane swapping for 2v1s for a fast tower push.
Instead, why not we make it so that the side lanes are asymmetrical? For example, instead of a square map, we have a rectangular one where top (purple) and bot (blue) lanes are slightly longer. That way, the equilibrium minion wave position is closer to blue on bot side and closer to purple on top side. In addition we can make dragon slightly tankier to discourage early dragons (since it should be a "big objective"). This means that bot blue is safer than bot purple while top purple is safer than top blue.
This would have huge implications for high elo and pro play, since you would then have fundamentally different laning assignments and picks depending on what side of the map you are on. For example, blue could pick a strong early gamer to shut down and zone the purple top easily since they can freeze on the very first wave, but purple can just lane swap and 2v1 shut down blue top, and vice versa.
This would also encourage niche picks such as
(side lane)
(side lane)
(solo) as safe 1v2 farmers.
