From the opinions of my friends around me, some like it and some hate it. But i can tell you that most of my friends include myself dislike it for vary reasons. Personally I hate it because the low quality of the images in the map(trees, plants, stones and road). And the whole style of the map does not coincide the unchanged design of the champion modules in game, while makes me feel it is an incomplete work. Honestly this change of SR happened too fast and the change was significantly too much. They didn't take a chance to listen to common players' feedback. Players are forced to accept the change. It reminds me what happened to Windows 8 of Microsoft. Win 8 was completely failed OS since it forced the users to accept the big change of use but the users simply refused to use it. Even the most powerful company could make the absolutely wrong decision and latter suffered the lose. I hope Riot would not have to face the same situation. They should know the new game of Blizzard has been on beta test now right? This would be a good time for those players hating the new SR map and losing faith of LOL to try other similar game. The question comes latter: will they come back?
