I'm currently at Silver 5 in ranked. I only played my 10 prelim matches to get there and I don't really like ranked. Will I drop rank if I don't keep playing ranked matches? How long before I drop and will I get a warning beforehand? I'm scared if I play I'm going to lose and then drop down to bronze, how many would I have to lose for that to happen? Sorry for so many questions, I just don't know much about ranked play.
If you are in silver 5, it should take over ten games for you to drop. On my smurf, I've lost about 13 games in a row at Plat 5, and never dropped to gold 1. Your mmr will have tanked though, and you'll only be gaining 10ish LP for about 10 games, then should shoot straight back to norm after your wins and losses even out. Don't worry too much about dropping!
Yes, ranking/elo will drop if you don't play ranked (It won't change if you aren't placed, though) It'll drop after about four weeks of not playing ranked. You do, indeed, get a warning about it. As for the dropping to bronze. It depends on how much League Points you lose per defeat.
Inactivity will result in elo dropping.
