[Dominion] Another/Same suggestion?
I played a few dominion games recently because they are fast and moderately enjoyable but a few things i thought could be better buff/nerf wise and then maybe a few design changes. also playing these dominion games i remembered all those guildwars2 spvp matches and they are very similar and i think a few ideas could be borrowed from it.
buffs and nerfs i was thinking was 1.the point-turret gets stunned after the capture channel has finished, as in the turret can still shoot you until the laser beam animation goes off and you begin to capture the point. ------ my reasoning....im salty i got dove by two ppl and the second guy lived with 10hp and started capping the point :( 2. Garrision summoner spell currently increases regeneration/reduces damage. i dont know how strong this is but to me it never felt worth but a buff to it i think would be on friendly points prevent point capture and regeneration / enemypoint disable the turret all together? idk 80% is basically disabled already lol 3. this buff would be annoying as hell but coming from gw2 i think there should be faster decap but keep or make the capture longer --- run decap mine, return to windmill 4. minions should start spawning even if the other point is neutral? ------ maybe it would cause problems with backdooring minions so maybe not 5. homeguard? would completely make every other boot enchant useless but homeguard very strong or maybe a buff when you back to give a minispeed boost to get back to the home points faster 6.(maybe) make it where the excess minions that you push into a point and capture a. march to the next point, or b. die and delete some of enemies score ------idk minions feel kinda useless
overall map changes
- move the two homepoints closer to spawn so that walking from spawn to the points is faster
- if not then maybe add two more exits that lead into the fog of war near the health relic behind the home points
- i think to give stronger rotato in dominion instead of speed shrine there could be portals that teleport to the bottom shrine after a few seconds of channeling or vice-versa as long as you own the point closest to the speed shrine blueportal (refinery) / purpleportal (drill)
- if portal got created wards might be nice getting jumped by a 4man portal bomb would be pretty sweet >:(
- i dont really like the storm shield but idk what to do with it or change middle but something objective in the center. stormshields for everyone!
- but as i was typing this i remembered in gw2 there is a map with runes and channeling them gives your team a buff one buff is extra score generated for points you have capped, or one which would be hella op is it caps every point for the team that capped the rune (but it only spawns at a certain time, and only once, like 8minutes in a match or so) [additional info gw2 is 0 to 500 wins each point gives 1 point a second(?) so if u control 2 points, 2points a second, buffed 4 points a second vs 1 point a second.] so the dominion equivalent would be like -1 point for enemy a second or maybe it could heal your score lol say like 400 to 425 over 10-20 seconds lol ^ this would make the center team contested depending on the buff it could even be worth giving up the windmill for it
So the idea with this is "more diversity"? currently best meta is 4 top 1 bot maybe 3 top 2 bot if u can cheese it and kill bot lol with all the above changes lets say blue side does standard 4top 1 bot. 3people at windmill while the 1 person caps refinery. the one person can now choose to reinforce windmill for 4v3; 4v4 if their 4th joins fight at the top. instead of going top he could also go across decap drill then head back to top or just fully cap it. if fully capture it then he could portal down bot and 2v1 and take bot but give up top(maybe)
if everything went well then it would be very nice snowball feeling win with the ability to come back, 2 additional exits you cant easily get camped out the front door, and it probably wouldnt go this smoothly every time because different champs have different strengths. such as if the refinery capper cant out duel the drill capper and dies in the middle en route to drill making it 4v3 top or 2v1 bot
