Well, if we're going along with some of the things that Zed, Jhin and Shen's main writer, Rioter Odin Shafer, has teased over the years- then I'm expecting at see at least one of the following bullet points to show up in the comic series.
-
We'll get some flashbacks and insight into Jhin's past, or at least some vague exposition explaining why he became the kind of twisted serial killer that he is, since Shafer said Shen will be the one who's going to uncover fragments and pieces of Jhin's mysterious past, like how he was the son of a once-renowned Chi-dojo master and so on.
-
Shen and Zed coming the the collective realization/discovery that Kusho had a very, _very _ good reason for sparing Jhin's life. Like, perhaps killing him off would result in disastrous consequences for Ionia's political future or something like that. Hence his suspicious "good and evil are not truths" quote from Jhin's being a sort of foreshadowing for this all along. Would be a neat twist for sure.
-
We'll finally know the truth of that Zed-Kusho meeting that happened behind closed doors. Why did Zed cry out in agony and go on a rage-fueled killing spree shortly after their reunion? Why would be behead his father figure and slaughter off the majority of the Kinkou Order, whom he likely once viewed as his family thanks to his orphaned childhood? Just what the hell did Kusho say or do to make him that mad, or was it just the case of the shadows corrupting his mind?
-
Full-on face reveals for Zed and Shen, but not for Jhin. Zed's an especially obvious case, since Riot's 2019 lore roadmap video basically teased concept art of an unmasked Zed, most likely from his younger days before or shortly after he left the Kinkou Order.
-
The comic's plot constantly swapping back and forth between past and present events, with half of the story putting heavy focus on Zed's backstory via crucial flashbacks (namely revolving around Zed & Shen's the 4-year investigation to hunt down The Golden Demon obviously,) while the other half focuses around the upcoming events that are currently foreshadowed in Jhin's color text and the Awakened music video. In other words, Zed and Shen teaming up with/aiding Camille, Vi and Caitlyn in their hunt for Jhin, who - as most of us already know - was heading to Zaun & Piltover to take out some of his assigned targets.
-
Notable side-characters from past lore-related short stories, comics & color texts making a comeback and playing a crucial role in the comic's plot - namely Saito Takeda, Mama Elodie and Lady Sofia. My reasons for this? Saito Takeda's an Ionian immigrant who betrayed his own native country by becoming a ruthless Zaunite chem baron (AKA mafia boss) who specializes in the creation, mass-production and selling of black-market bio-weapons, with Noxus being his biggest funder & backer. He's also the same chem-baron who funded the failed Zaun Amorphous Combatant project, which resulted in the accidental creation of Zac. Madam Elodie is an orphaned princess who was forced to flee from Ionia due to her half-Vastayan heritage, eventually becoming the owner of the orphanage mentioned in the "City of Iron & Glass" short story. She became a sort of celebrity in Zaun, using her fantastic singing voice to perform all kinds of musical concerts in order to keep her orphanage afloat. Lastly, Lady Sofia is from the Arvino clan, one of Piltover's most elite and wealthy families. Her Fiance was a Zaunite chem baron, who was assassinated by Camille in her champion release comic, "Severed Ties."
-
Two of the aforementioned minor characters listed above (Takeda and Elodie,) will likely become political and personal targets for _both _ Jhin and Zed, while Arvino could become one of Jhin's "side-job" clients, whom she then hires to kill Camille, eventually leading to the events in the Awaken cinematic.
I also have this very weird, underlying suspicion that the comic will simultaneously function as a giant teaser for the upcoming assassin champion that Riot's releasing later this year, much like how, say - Burning Tides and Demacian Heart acted as narrative teasers for Illaoi and Sylas. But now I'm just too tired and lazy to explain it any further, so I'll just end my post here.
