THE 5 REMAINING DARKINS

During a live stream of Aatrox game play, a few of us started to discuss the lore of the darkins. There is an obvious pattern here: Aatrox Aatrox: High sustain top bruiser Weapon: Sword Varus Varus: High damage adc Weapon: Bow Kayn Kayn/Rhaast: Sustain + burst high mobility jg Weapon: Scythe

That leaves a mid and a support, at least one of which is female as shown by Varus's lore (he's travelling to shurima to find his "sister". I imagine both of them will be revealed in due time, but in preparation for that, i would suggest posting ideas in this discussion if you would like them to be seen. Both of them will also get a signature weapon most likely, a staff maybe for the midlaner (mage)? It will be difficult to create a darkin support, as according to lore they all hate each other.

There is no need in assuming what role goes in what lany anymore, any of the Darkin champions could work well in any place on the map

I think it's possible for Kayle and Morgana to be the remaining Darkin after their rework. Of course, this is just a theory, but Aatrox has some interesting quotes towards them.

Let me show you your error, Kayle! You are not worthy of ascension! You, are not worthy of the worms!

Die, Kayle, knowing you potential will never be reached.

You would bind yourself to this realm. Morgana? Fine, let me show you the ground!

You disgust me, Morgana! Die in the filth of your bound flesh!

I think it's possible Morgana was one of the Darkin when they were still transcendental beings, but bound herself to Runeterra by choice and wasn't entrapped like the others. For Kayle, we know the Darkin have been fighting the void, presumably in Shurima, so it's possible they have some ties with the ascension ritual. The location would also fit where Varus is searching right now.

Of course, it's entirely possible the quotes are just hinting at a rework along the lines of "Morgana was a god and wanted to become a human" and "Kayle was a human and wanted to become a god" and are not related to the Darkin at all.

You could always reference the Millennium items for ideas.

Perhaps the Darkin support derives from the Millennium key and deals with matters of the soul

According to bible text in terms of the horsemen of the apocalypse;

The White Horse;

Then I saw when the Lamb broke one of the seven seals, and I heard one of the four living creatures saying as with a voice of thunder, “Come.” I looked, and behold, a white horse, and he who sat on it had a bow; and a crown was given to him, and he went out conquering and to conquer.

Varus Heck he even got a conqueror skin.

The Red horse;

When He broke the second seal, I heard the second living creature saying, “Come.” And another, a red horse, went out; and to him who sat on it, it was granted to take peace from the earth, and that men would slay one another; and a great sword was given to him.

Aatrox Great sword he is war

Then the next one is interesting in terms of your topic, the support Darkin,

The Black Horse;

When He broke the third seal, I heard the third living creature saying, “Come.” I looked, and behold, a black horse; and he who sat on it had a pair of scales in his hand. And I heard something like a voice in the center of the four living creatures saying, “A quart of wheat for a denarius, and three quarts of barley for a denarius; but do not damage the oil and the wine.”

I imagine It will be a champion with scales for a weapon or something of that theme.

The Pale Horse;

When the Lamb broke the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth living creature saying, “Come.” I looked, and behold, an ashen horse; and he who sat on it had the name Death; and Hades was following with him. Authority was given to them over a fourth of the earth, to kill with sword and with famine and with pestilence and by the wild beasts of the earth.

Kayn Hence the scythe.

Supports don't need to be friendly characters,so a darkin support is easily possible(heck if it really turns out that Morgana is the last darkin,then we'd already have one) Thresh Pyke TahmKench

Anyway the darkins seem to be mostly based on typical fantasy demons,so I'd really like Riot to use this to their advantage to make them distinct from each other by basing them on different demonic archetypes.

Because of this I'd like one of the darkins to be an imp,who uses lies and deceit to sow chaos(alternatively he could be a darkin that starts out small,but then gahers more and more flesh throughout the game to become more powerful)

Other types of demons I'd also be ok with would be an Oni or a more monstrous darkin(think of diablo from diablo 3).
