Taric before Targon would feel for someone despite the gender IMO. Taric after Targon wound't fall in love because of his mission and knowledge that he got.

Taric has not been confirmed as gay. He's the problem that is the "illusion of inclusion," much like Varus. They've hedged, and made innuendo, and hinted, but that's all just smoke and mirrors because he has never been directly confirmed. In Varus' case, Varus, the Darkin, isn't gay, but the two men who's body he stole is. But you don't play the two men, you play Varus. This is the entire issue with Riot's approach to LGBT characters - they have never actually given us a legitimate character, just hazy guess work and reach arounds.
Neeko is the first absolutely confirmed LGBT character in the game. That's why she's making such a big splash. And if her line to Taric is any indication, this could mean they're finally confirming him as gay as well.

What about his lines or outfits mean he must be gay? Before you answer, note that not every man who takes care of his appearance is gay. Also note that Taric's obsession with beauty is due to Riot taking the "Taric long hair so beautiful" meme, amplifying it, and rolling it into the official lore with the rework. Because that's so much more interesting than a gem knight (from a land so distant that no one in Runeterra even knew about gem magic) being mysteriously transported to Runeterra. Oh, and the "Protector" used to have a shield.

He's not, because a gay male character would cause outrage. Lesbian character instead, well, nobody cares, because straight women are ok with it, gay men are ok with it, lesbian women like it, and straight men like it.
This is why Neeko can have innuendo voicelines while Taric is so in the closet he's pretty much like heterosexual.
