Skarner lore? wut.

So, i was browsing through champion lores cuz i was bored, and came across Skarner's. IIRC Skarner was dug up from an excavation site, where he lay dormant, guarding other members of his race who were in hibernation, ect. Now all it says is that hes the guardian of an unknown hole. Not even a full paragraph is written for him. What the fuck? I kinda liked Skarner's old lore.....

Can someone update me as to why this is, and will / when Riot will actually put real effort into his lore?

This has been one of the main criticisms about the Shuriman event, and you are far from alone. This entire board has been calling Riot out on it and there has been very little communication from Riot, and even then they have been dodging the criticisms and instead latching onto any sort of alternate discussion to avoid talking with their critics.

Riot is trying to write the short stuff for the client and then release bigger stories/lore in the site (I think). That means that, as they did with Xerath and Azir (they have short bios and bigger stories), champs like Skarner or Amumu would get bigger stories eventually.

(imo, Azir's and Xerath's stories are freaking great, I love both.)

Lol at "Riot putting in effort" especially for a lore. The only thing they put effort into is skins, last champ they put an effort into is Yasuo, so yeah.

Yeah short lores are going to be in the client and long lores will be on official site. The problem is that the lore team ran into an unexpected technical problem and seems to have problems fixing that(alternatively they take our criticism into account and are still changing some stuff). The reason why they are doing this is that long lores tend to scare away people and they want champs to have multiple lore pieces.

Once the problem is solved,they will update the official site with full lores,while adding a link to the in-game-client-short-lores

The idea is to have the long version of his lore up on the website eventually. But we just recently got Azir and Xerath and it's been a while since the Shurima event, so I wouldn't bet on them having that content ready nor to see it soon. More the usual soon™.
