An explanation of Project's Narrative

Earlier today there was a post made on how Riot had given us lore via the new PROJECT skins...and their comment was rebuked. However, upon closer inspection, it would seem that, in fact, there is a deeper connection than previously indicated.

The entirety of the video seems to be a combination of two things:

A) Modern explanation of Yi's current situation, and a repetition of the past B) Flashbacks to previous memories, either instilled by the creator of "Project Yi" or Yi's memories themselves in which, Yi is merely in a futuristic suit

Beginning at 14 Seconds, we see Yi envisioning Iona, Destroyed. https://youtu.be/jB1XvMyEBNA?t=14

Being the protector that he is, he struggles to free himself from his bounds, so as to render assistance to those in the city; indicating that he is similar to what he was previously, at least at his very essence (protector of Ionia).

Then, we see the berserker, the overlord, whatever you want to claim that we're seeing. Regardless, it's evident that he is the antagonist and Yi is reliving a battle momentarily. However, the scientist takes the place of the Antagonist, wherein Yi then overcomes the scientist (and by correlation, the Berserker).

https://youtu.be/jB1XvMyEBNA?t=26 This can be seen at 26 seconds.

Then, the past echoes into modern day. However, instead of there being an unknown antagonist, it is instead alluded to Zed as the replacement, wherein the berserker is superimposed over Zed for a brief second.

This can be seen behind Yi, above his head during a flash back. https://youtu.be/jB1XvMyEBNA?t=82

This establishes repetition, allowing oneself (if so inclined) to make the correlation that Zed is the modern day equivalent of that antagonist; Or, taking it a step further, that the past is repeating itself and the futuristic city is in danger, and Yi (and the gang) must take steps to prevent the destruction of this new city similar to that of the past.

By the end, there is a large explosive exit to this conflict wherein Yi exits, and grasps at the blossoms of a tree, indicating the initiation of a new start. This statement, however, is only supported by the assumption that precedes this scene that Yi is triumphant over his overlord.

However, there is some ambiguity following this part. Is there still a greater threat? Or did we just witness the past and future repeat itself, and tell two different stories, one with a better ending than the prior?

It's possible that they were more triumphant this time around due to the arousal of new heroes and champions whom were added to the fray, which would explain Lucian's abrupt entrance.

I believe that this is an indication that there is a greater threat, and the worst has yet to come.

well you retold the video, pretty much. i think people were asking for detailed, written lore, not an ambiguous hype trailer.
