So, my 5th death in a kindred game. I knew we would lose. I was looking at the other kindred and I heard this.

Wolf: Lamb, tell me a story! Lamb: Well, there was once a pale man with dark hair, a robe, who was very lonely. Wolf: Why was it lonely? Lamb: All things must meet this man. Wolf: Did he chase them off? Lamb: No, they shunned him. So, he took an axe, and split himself. Right down the middle. Wolf: Is that us? Lamb: I am not sure Wolf: So he did it to always have a friend? Lamb: to always have a friend.

Now, I know this is extremely similar to the facebook one, but, this one has more details. As many of us thought, he killed himself through the waist, but, apparently, he did it down the middle. So technically, he should have a same personality between them, but he dioesn't.

You got the bonus cookie! Glad you posted this. "Right down the middle" was one of my favorite deliveries from our wonderful actress. I got chills when we were in the recording booth listening to those two tell this story to each other.

...if I remember right..left/right brain does not always have the same personality. To the extent that they can use some brain surgeries to separate the parts to help things like schizophrenia. (Though mostly considered ineffective now and too risky vs medications.)

And at least one case of someone that was so tired of fighting his mental disorder he attempted suicide. He shot himself, lived, and 'cured' his mental disorder. http://www.nytimes.com/1988/02/25/us/brain-wound-eliminates-man-s-mental-illness.html

TL;DR- splitting your brain in half could end up giving you 2 very different personas...assuming you lived through it.

why would you assumed that the "PALE MAN" would split himself across the stomach? Who the fuck is many of us, what group are you talking for? The standard for these stories when spiting into is vertical never horizontal. When you split a human in half you have to do it vertical due to symmetry; which is why the stories like this are always vertical cuts.

Isn't that sort of a weird place to put an Easter Egg?

I always thought it was a vertical cut. Odd that I never considered horizontal.

Taking things a little too literally methinks.

At best, some entity, which was Runterra's manifestation of Death (which could have been some powerful genderless spirit, we don't know.), decided to split itself in 2, likely due to loneliness, and became Kindred.

OR

Kindred has always been Kindred, and the Story of the Pale Man is a folk tale made up by humans to attempt to rationalise death (Kindred) by attaching it's existence to an act of loneliness (a very human emotion).

Well, for one, the brain is divided into left and right and blah blah blah.

But dude, come on, this guy wasn't even human. Can we really apply logic (and faulty logic, I mean if you cut me in half I wouldn't become a lamb and wolf at all, let alone dividing my personality) to something that isn't even human in the first place? It's Death.

It's symbolic, it's metaphysical, it's not quite literal or material as you think it is. The guy split himself and became two different beings, one of emotion and one of thought (sorta). It's based on the Yin Yang, one of which is traditionally feminine and the other masculine so let's not even bother with the "man's" gender.

I didn't understand anything :c

From where you heard this?

Are you saying you thought he had cut himself in half in the waste? -- I actually understood it the other way then =P that he cut himself vertically.

Where can I hear "Right down the middle"? :|
