Then through conveniently placed events which somehow drag both of them into same story arc, they go through series of impossible challenges that serves no purpose other than showing a heroic and truly good side of the characters. She learns to appreciate him, see the true goodness in him, despite all the things she hated about him, and at some point they get together. this, often is confirmed through a close shot of them grabbing each other's hands, a kiss or a meaningful(less) look in each other's eyes at the end of a disaster. Aka 75% of movies, TV shows, animes or videogames with any kind of romantic story arc in them! i might have been a bit generous with that percentage over there.
This is all in jest of course.
