Hex-crystals

I don't know if there was ever a discussion on this, but I see a lot of people with weird theories about Jayce and Ekko's crystals (not that that is a bad thing, everyone is entitled to their own theory). But riot basically spelled it out to us that Hex-crystals are the crystals of the Brackern, Skarner's race. And in Camille's lore it is said that clan Ferros were one of the leading forces in setting up the hex-tech industry her Great-great aunt losing her arm in the process, connecting with skarner's lore. Of course Camille whom is now close to the age of 90, had access to the hex-crystal which was used to create her new heart. But when her great-great aunt was alive, this was well over, possibly, 150 years ago.

Skarner's lore "She aims her weapon again and I shake with horror as I see the paling namestone strapped to it. Her weapon drains our life energy. They are wasting crystals to power their terrible song. I feeI I will burst in fury and pain, but instead I pull strength from the ground. Her sacrifice was celebrated, and it set an expectation that is still reflected in the Ferros family motto today, “For family, will I give.” "

What has Skarner been doing? The hex-tech industry is rather lively, granted, not the entire crystal is need to produce the energy humans would require for any current machinery, eg Jayce's hammer runs off of a shard of a full crystal. Though given Orianna's lore, we can assume they are worth quite a bit if not a fortune. Is Skarner preparing to take on Piltover, it has be possibly close to a century and a half since he woke and vowed to protect his sleeping kin, more surely have awoken and with enough, they can raid Piltover, although the question to be answered are whether or not the hex-crystals can still function to given life to his kind after being used in modern day hex-tech.
