let’s be honest here, he betrayed his friend for power he still wants more, and he’s the most powerful of the ascended.
In terms of destructive power and the capability of destroying a bunch of life in an instant.

Morde would fit that role perfectly
Does League really need a "Thanos"?
Not sure. If Karthus' in-game kit reflects his lore, then if the Black Mist ever gets strong enough and he is the one harnessing it the most, probably Karthus.
Otherwise, I'd say Mordekaiser. He has the smarts the Void don't and the death magic the Targonians and Darkin don't. I can see Mordekaiser being able to kill half the frickin' universe in an instant if he assembled the right artifacts of power.
