What are the Baccai compared to Darkin, Ascended and Aspects (and other lore Questions)

With the new Darkin lore which I am loving, we now have yet to see one more, the Baccai, which is only introduced to us by a loading screen narrative tip. With the Darkin lore showing a light on how Ascended, Aspects and Darkin works, we still have yet to see a Baccai. Have these god like beings witnessed a Baccai before? What sort of power do they have if compared to these beings. This is the description of what Baccai are from the loading screen tip "In Shurima, those who survived a failed Ascension ritual are known as the Baccai, who often are twisted and malformed."

And for other lore questions, if Azir meets Aatrox, Varus or Rhaast, will he still recognized them? Will they recognize Azir? And will Nasus recognize them as well?

And how does Sivir's weapons work now? Does it contain the souls of the Ascended? Can Sivir hear them? And is Diana basically connected to it now, since Ta'anari combined the power of the Moon (with the help of an aspect of twilight) to defeat the other Ascended?

Sorry for asking too many questions, but There's so much revealed but so many more questions to be asked [sg-janna]

While all these paragraphs of details are nice, it comes down to this:

Ascended: A perfectly cooked pizza roll from the oven Darkin: A perfectly cooked pizza roll from the oven that fell on the floor Baccai: A pizza roll that was cooked in the microwave that still has a cold center

Baccai, if they still exist in new lore, no doubt don't live long. They are failed Ascensions after all, the process can kill the person outright yeah? But a Baccai wouldn't have the long life or greatness of the Ascension so probably cast out, killed or die soon after due to what they now are.

If the idea that Ascension (at least by Nasus and Renekton's story goes) is meant to be for those who are truely worthy, there must have been a reason it wasn't just given to everyone near death. That being the chance of death or becoming a Baccai was far too great, infact maybe only 1 in 50000 people would actually become Ascended, greater even as we only know of less than like 20 in stories.

The rest is open to interpretation as the new lore changes. Rhaast, Aatrox and Varus would know Azir but might not recognise him as an Ascended bird-man. Nasus would no doubt kill them all, although if he kept his snout out of things, might not even know they are in weapons and the rest of the Darkin dead. Renekton and Xerath don't know what they are at all.

And Sivir's weapon is apparently of Targonian origin, not exactly sure how it works but it would mean it has the power to kill Xerath.

I wanted to ask this very question a lot earlier, but held off as for most Rioters in California should be asleep during the early hours of the morning. And boy I'm not waiting 10 or so hours before any possibility of a response.

I hope we get some clarification on the general similarities that the terms Bacci and Darkin have with each other. Bacci was a term for physically twisted Ascended and Darkin seems to have originated as a term for those mentally twisted Ascended, and yet Darkin also began to physically twist their bodies too. So you cant really split the two terms into being slight variations of each other, since 'Darkin' is already suited as an overall description for Ascended who are both physically and mentally twisted.

If I had to assume 'Bacci' might not be a term meaning to deformed Ascended anymore. It could easily be revised into something else if need be but that's up to Riot.

Ascended are people raised to godhood status by the sun disc successfully , Baccai are failed ascensions , think xerath but much uglier and deformed and with less explosive consequences . Darkin were Ascended who basically got the league equivalent of PTSD after the Icathian war , ending up having mortal desires again , like a hunger for power , lying and unnecessary bloodshed .

Heck, maybe Rhaast's a baccai and that's why he can't bodyjack one dude and didn't get a backstory yet.

I feel like they might connect the baccai to the shadow isles if they keep going down the path they are now
