You know I used to think demacia was alright, it was cool just a basic faction and stuff that fight for justice and stuff.

But after the announcement of sylas and this video

Like holy shit man, I always knew demacia had something against magic but not to the point that they’d imprison children who possessed magic and take them away from their families at a fairly young age. Like you could kick them out of demacia or bann then from demacia like damn.

I really don’t know why demacians hate magic, it’s not the magic itself, it’s the user but seeing after how they treated people and locked them away in prison for years just because they have magic really brings a smile to my face when sylas kicks demacia in the ass

Didn't they only start the hardcore imprisonment because of Sylas and his rebellion? Pretty sure the new story said the girl would've been left alone if it wasn't for the rebellion. I mean, they are still terrible to mages before, but now with Sylas basically recruiting every mage out there to brutally kill non-mages makes it so they are locking up anyone suspected of magic simply to avoid him growing his ranks.

The fact of the matter is, if Sylas had just waited, there was a good chance that Demacia would've moved towards change, especially once J4 took the throne. If anything, from a lore standpoint, I dislike Sylas more than Demacia simply because he's making things much worse, not better.

Since the first to form Demcia are the survivors from the Rune wars. And the runes being manipulative in a way they agreed to form a region to has 0 magic allowed and everything that comes with it. They have that idea of magic being manipulative engraved in their minds. They see magic is an evil force that twists the users to cause distruction.

I personally love Demacia now. Ever since they made it so they hated magic it became so much more interesting than just a "Good kingdom that fights for good and nothing else". Demacia is more unique and now has a much more to offer than a goody 2 shoes kingdom.

Also Im pretty sure they do still exile mages from Demacia but they may just lock up some of the other mages for some reason.
