As a Kohari (especially being the leader and the grandmaster of arms) he was presumably in the front lines, especially when the rift broke out, some of the ascended were even corrupted. The void's presence was simply enough to wipe Axamuk's memory and warp his consciousness, so, riot what is up?
Maybe Jax's species has some sort of magical resistance to the void?

As far as i remember, Jax ran away before being corrupted, simply as that.
Jax made it out in time and Axamuk would've too, if he hadn't chosen to stay. They had a whole conversation about this in the story.
Odd. I thought Jax had slight amnesia. Like, poor memory. I might have to reread it again, but Jax was challenging Demacians upon a bridge to fight a threat, but he could barely remember or recognize himself. (correct me if I'm wrong)
Well, he isn't human anymore at this point.
His fingers fused together, he has like 7 eyes, and he is faster and stronger than anyone else. Maybe this is because of Void corruption.
We don't actually know that he wasn't affected in some way, actually. Until we get a bit more modern lore on Jax, it's hard to say. Given how long he's lived (and I doubt that's normal for his kind, or there would likely be others), there's probably something going on there.
