Something People are Overlooking
It’s established that the void corrupts. We see this in many places in-game: Baron, Herald, Kassadin etc. people have been complaining recently that the newest champion Kai’sa Is not corrupted enough.
The problems with this statement arise when the concept of corruption is examined. What is corruption?
The relevant definition of corruption is “the process by which something, typically a word or expression, is changed from its original use or meaning to one that is regarded as erroneous or debased.” as per the online dictionary.
So it’s obvious that the Void has changed Kai’sa. Kai’sa has an altered skin color, and she’s part voidling.
You may say: “She’s not part voidling, she’s just in a symbiotic relationship.”
The counterpoint to this is found when examining what we know so far about the corruption. It’s a living void organism that formed a symbiotic relationship with Kai’sa. The creature has substituted her clothes, essentially replacing her skin. Kai’sa’s VO displays that the nature by which she stays attached to the voidling is on a magnitude much greater than that of any real-life example. Furthermore the organism allows her to use the power of the void. Kai’sa’s abilities are likely activated through a neural link between Kai’Sa and an organism. Their brains are connected, making it a de factor singular brain.
So Kai’Sa shares a brain with a creature of the void.
How is that not evident of incredible corruption? In fact this is an extent of corruption that has not been seen before in champions.
The nature of the void itself counters the popular opinion. Kai’sa Describes the void as not so much a place, but “a power”. This can be taken to mean that the void does not identify with any particular location. The void instead a source of power, one that feeds all of its creatures.
If the further argument is made that the Void itself is actually a supernatural entity, then that means that Kai’Sa shares a brain with the goddamn Void.
People on the boards are getting caught up in only one specific type of corruption. There are many more that are far more penetrating in thorough. Kai’sa says it herself when she says “the creatures of the void offer a thousand ways to die, and one way to live: become like them”
