So Is the Void Subterranean or Still Another Dimension?
I'm a little confused. I would assume it's somewhere in between since it's been spotted on other worlds by Aurelion Sol.

Its another dimension,but it looks like the portals to the void are usually connected to the ground(I'd say it is most likely that they need solid matter to manifest) Similar to how portals to hell are usually depicted like they are connected to the underground.
It is another dimension, and probably not even a dimension but a "place" between dimensions.
It is not something human mind can compherend, according to story. So I figure it is not a place that is terrestial, that you can walk, breathe, or even see. A rioter says not even voidborns can survive here for a long time, so ye.
On Kai'Sa case, what happens beneath the Icathia is Void having rifts through the Runeterra. She can survive here without her mask because essentially it is still Runeterra. Though this rifts are not exactly portals, a rioter says. You don't go into the Void when you enter one of them.
