Fate/Zero - LoL Theory (Manaless Champions Explained)

We all know how big the lore of the League universe is, and that the lore has a big unused potential

Most of the players just play the game, and nothing more, so the lore doesnt bother them. Im the kind of player that likes to look behind some facts.

So, I've stumbled upon the Fate series (Fate/Zero;Fate/Stay Night UBW). If you are not familiar with it, not a problem, I'll explain everything

The story of the anime is kind of similar to the Summoner War. In Fate, the Holy Grail choses mages who get the permission to summon a warrior from the past. They can do it by having a relic that is connected to the hero, and through that they summon their heroic spirits into bodies that are maintained by the mage-masters mana. So, there is a Mage that summons a Heroic Spirit as a servant and they clash in the Holy Grail War, while in LoL, there is a summoner that summons a champion and they clash in the Summoner's Rift, suspiciously similar BUT THE THEORY ONLY BEGINS NOW

In Fate/Zero, the mage/master provides the Servant with mana, so the Hero is able to fight and use different special abilities (Noble Phantasms). From this we can assume now that the Mana of the Champion is actually the Summoner's Mana.

BUT THAN WHY IS THAT SOME CHAMPS HAVE NO MANA???

The answer is not that simple, but I'll try to make it understandable. So, in Fate, there were heroes, kings, warriors that died in the past, and their spirits became Heroic Spirits. And now we know that they can be summoned as servants. So a servant is a dead warrior from the past. So, we must assume that the Champions we summon are DEAD WARRIORS from the past. Think about it: Anyone that has mana, is already dead, while manaless champs are stil alive.

To explain it, i have some examples that might confrim this:

Rengar - Khazix Rivals that are know to hunt each other. Kha'Zix uses mana in the Rift, which means he is dead, and Rengar probably killed him in one of their encounters

Renekton - Nasus Brothers, that are also rivals. Again, Nasus uses mana, Renekton doesnt. The only possible explanation is that Renekton beat Nasus, and he became a Summonable Spirit

Garen - Darius Same example. Noxus has probably lost to Demacia in a war, so thats why Garen is manaless (assumably alive), and Darius mana dependent (probably dead)

Other Manaless champs explained:

Aatrox Darkin, literally immortal. He must die to become a mana dependent summonable champ

Akali LeeSin Zed Shen Ionians that use Energy. Assumably they are alive. There are examples of Ionians that use mana: Jhin Karma Kayn Irelia. Irelia is likely to be dead (dont know about new role), but as I played her, I heared her talking like a last Ionian. Others with no specific deaths couls also be dead due to being lived long ago.

Mordekaiser Tryndamere Zac Gnar Morde, as his name says, is the Death Emperor. He was brought back to life by Necromancers, so he isn't Summoned the ordinary way like other champs. Tryndamere is fuckign immortal, just because he is angry. And Zac is a Goo. GOOd lucky killing him (nice pun kms). Gnar is a prehistoric rat that was frozed in ice for millions of years. Thats why he could be alive

Some Mana dependent explained Anivia AurelionSol Bard Ornn Nautilus Ancient beings are probably over a million Runeterran-years. That could explain why are they dead

Azir Kassadin Malzahar Xerath Shurima is known to be in the past. And the Icathian void incident was far in the past. This could explain why Azir and other shuriman/void champ is dead. Xerath has in his lore, that he exploded and deastroyed Shurima.

Brand Diana Janna Karthus Kindred Leona Pantheon Taric The Chosen of Targon are basically random people posessed by spirits, like the Spirit of War, Sprt of Sun/Moon, Sprt of Guardian. In Pantheons lore it is said that he is just an Avatar of war, and if he dies, a new person will become the Avatar of war. And judging by his appearance, he is a Spartan warrior, and that must be rally far in the past of Runeterran History. Others like Kindred and Brand are just different embodied spirits. Karthus is literally a dead motherfucker

So in conclusion, the only champions that are alive are: Aatrox Akali DrMundo Garen Gnar Katarina Kennen Kled LeeSin RekSai Renekton Rengar Riven Rumble Shyvana Tryndamere Vladimir Yasuo Zac Zed

They are either immortal or just live in the present and not happened to be killed yet

Realized that there are no AD carries that are manaless?? All of them are dead, no wonder they are the weakest role

The game is not canon, simple as that, Mana cost (and the other sources like rage, heat and energy) are used for balance of the game, that is all.

This theory makes 0 sense if you think about it for a second.

Mordekaiser according to your theory does not need mana because he wasnt ressurrected by the "Summoners" (who arent canon anymore)... but Karthus and the other undeads do because he "is literally a dead motherfucker"... and then we have Amumu and Pyke who are undeads who also use mana and they were also resurrected by "other sources". (Azir also falls into this cathegory)

All the yordles are timeless beings, they cant die as far as we know (unless you count amumu)... then why only 3 of them use mana?

Olaf also breaks your whole theory, because he will die due old age; he cant be killed... and he uses mana, for throwing axes, nothing magical there. Why?

You say that Aatrox is a Darkin, literally immortal. He must die to become a mana dependent summonable champ... but then you forget about Varus who is a Darkin as well... but uses mana. So, if darkins are "literally immortal"... why they are dead (according to the theory)?

And Riot already stated that all the champs are "alive" (i say "alive" because undeads are not really living... but you get the idea) in the same time period.

All of this is cool. But summoners summoning the champion is not cannon. So it has no purpose for making lore theory's.

What about Taliyah and Lux? They’re alive, use mana, and have no power-donor.

Summoners and summoning isnt canon anymore. Think of it like overwatch, the gameplay is no indication of the actual universe and lore.

The RIFT used to be canon once. LoL was something of a sport that had purpose, and it was one of the reasons I decided to try League in the first place since other games like Dota was just full of holes in it's framing of the game. I was rather fond of the old lore, though I think it's somewhat clear that RIOT was kind of split in the stories they wanted to tell. In the end they decided on the more traditional and well traveled path, and decided to axe the league.
