Riot, if you see this, please read it!

Greetings summoners! ^_^

Let me get straight to the point. I love reading champion lore. It gives me an in-depth idea about a particular champion and, in a way, makes the character more real for me. This is what I love. To me, the characters are more than just three-dimensional pixels I command. I love to read lore of champions. I, for one, would love to read more detailed stories about champions, Ionia, Noxus, Demacia, Valoran, Zaun, Shurima, etc.

The reason I say this is because I, like many others I'm sure, would love to read about the fall of Shurima, the war between Ionia and Noxus, Demacia and Noxus, and so on! How Renekton lost his way, and how Nasus had no choice but to kill his own brother. The life stories about Morgana and Kayle, Draven and Darius, Garen and Lux, etc. The story of the formation of the Order in the Ionian islands. The story about the Void. I really would love to read all about that, like many people in this community, I'm sure.

So, curiosity killing me, I Google searched for people who previously suggested the idea of books. I read the response from the community was great and they all loved the idea! Of course there were many flaws pointed out on the threads. Like, how to add chapters about the upcoming champions? How many books would it take to cover all the champions, all the wars, etc.

And here is my suggestion: Instead of writing a book about it, how about you add it as an online web-series? That way, updating it would be easier and it would be cost efficient, too.

But Vermin, how many writers would Riot have to hire to be able to write the lore of 100+ champions, their regions and their wars?

Well, I offer a simpler solution. Contests! You have an amazing community here, Riot, help us help you! Hold out contests for aspiring writers and lore-centric people like me. We could participate in a contest for writing lore and you could reward the winners with RP. That way people would be more inclined to read and write more lore.

I would love to hear your thoughts on this, fellow summoners! And a good day to all of you! :D

This is a bad idea, simply becomes it shatters consistency. Every writer has their own style, their own viewpoints, their own way of telling the world. If you start pick and pulling from different people, then everything becomes horribly muddled. Is Amumu a victim to be pitied, or is he a cursed soul to be put down? Is Viktor misunderstood, or has he gone fully over the edge? Does the Kinkou Order preserve balance in one way, or do they commit evil acts if good is too prevalent?

I personally say that they should have a contest for the opportunity to become a writer for them. Even if that position goes without pay, some aspiring authors such as myself would jump at such an opportunity. They could have a contest in which each applicant could write a short story (1-5 pages) similar to a fan-fiction, they pick a character they would like to write about and they tell a story based upon their thoughts. The winner (or winners depending on what they prefer) could be informed of the direction the lore will be headed, and allow those writers to create lengthy stories that Riot could go through, edit, then implement if they choose.

Its really simple, and I know they would have a massive turn out. Especially if they offer payment like IP-Boosts or a set amount of RP for each accepted submission for the winners.

the problem with contests is that it is kinda difficult to hold these without spoilers.

They'd need to inform the participants of how the story should go and what they need to keep in mind while writing it,which would spoil a lot of the stuff anyway.
