With the universe video out, Zed was mentioned to be hunting one of Ionia's deadliest assassins. This, I believe, confirms that the new "assassin" champion mentioned in the road map will be Ionian and be outside of zeds assassin organization. Granted the imagine they gave has a similar vibe and blade that Talon has, but talon is Noxian.
...Or maybe it's Jhin, who's being used by the group who freed him as an assassin, and who we know Zed is chasing after along with Shen. Just saying.
I thought that as well but the same guy said that there are no Ionian champions in the works.

That blade is Zed's blade, you can see it clearly. And it says Ionian assassin, unless they update Talon which is like, yeah i'm sure they will after leaving him in the gutter after 7.5 years. There is no hope. Give it up.
Reav3 confirmed there won’t be any new Ionian releases this year, so that rules out the Assassin being from there.
There’s a ton of places they could still be from though, if Riot is looking to fill up opportunity spaces within the League roster. Here are the regions that are currently missing an Assassin in their cast of champions:
Considering we’re already getting Demacian, Bandle City, and Shadow Isles champs this year with Morde's VGU, my guess is the Assassin will be from one of the other aforementioned regions (Targon, Piltover, Freljord), or maybe their release will introduce a new faction/location altogether.
He could just be hunting an assassins who isn't going to be champion considering most hunts end with a dead thing and I don't think Zed is going to die.
the only thing that im excited for in the zed comic is his new clothes(or old clothes, i think his comic is past retelling) and his face reveal(hopefully) lol
I get this feeling that the comic is based on zed's past specially him hunting jhin with shen so................... shen and zed fce reveal when they are young! unless they are masked already.
