Bard's place in the lore revamp

Bards are known as storytellers, and his reveal teaser specifically mentions a lot of old lore stories that have been addressed, a lot of fallen kingdoms, disappeared races, and missteps of mankind. In addition to this, his constellation--seen as a sign of his presence--is stated as being absent recently. I wondered then and I wonder now how this might impact the dichotomy of Riot's in-game lore. Let me explain, and I'll see what you think.

First, the League itself is now a disparate, non-existant entity, a fallen institution. In the lore, it was cast off to create more unique champions and situations we could see them in, and I think, on an honest level, it's helped in that regard. You can say what you want about certain plot elements or details that have emerged since, or ones you might miss from the old days, but there's a lot of good here. Champions like Yasuo, Rek'sai, even Bard himself however, have emerged with unique, non-generic lore that doesn't pertain to, in the end, 'being summoned to fight other people for reasons'.

However, it is a fallen institution. Bard's constellation was absent, recently, which means he returned or the equivalent, and he is stated in his reveal to show up to divert Runeterra from a catastrophe. It makes me wonder if he is some sort of wondering spirit with control over stories or the ability to shape the affects of ending societies or to alter mankind's decision... I don't know. It's impossible to say. I doubt if he shows up to literally save the world that roaming, tunneling, and turning things gold is enough.

So maybe there's a tie that could be made, in-lore, that somehow links Bard to the retcon of the League of Legends. That somehow the Institution was headed down a path that would have destroyed Runeterra, and so Bard is responsible for erasing them from history, while still leaving all of the loose ends--champions brought here from other worlds, items, legends, and so forth. I know it's out there, but those are the only theories I enjoy.

Thoughts?

Personally I see Bard as Riot setting up to finish off the Noxus - Ionia conflict whose resolution has changed because of the retcon. In the old lore The two nations sparred in two League matches to determine the fate of Ionia's lands, with Ionia winning in the end. Now these things haven't happened, and as such Noxus still controls the southern provinces of Galrin, Navori and Shon-Xan.

Years of fighting, politics and pain finally bring the Ionians to make a last attempt to liberate their homes from the tyranny of Noxus, and their plight moves the Gods of the world. Jax, a mighty guardian of Ionia's forests, rises up to take the fight. Soraka, now mortal, moves to aid the Ionians in anyway she can. Bard senses a catastrophe is near, and comes to avert crisis and steer things back on course.

I feel like Ao Shin could also fit in here, but who knows how much he could've changed by now.

Bard's one of these champions with a larger influence than most. Bard has potentially graced many events in Runeterra's history, and now that things are coming to a head in many areas of the world, he's returning to set things straight. While I disagree that he'll have anything to do with explaining the IoW retcon in a canon way, I think he's still gonna have a profound effect on a lot of things to come.

I can see them using Barb to close the Institute of War with a lore event. I would really like that of be the case. Of course this shouldn't be his main lore focus, hes a wonder of sorts(sort of) so he will have seen many things in his travels.

Although it seems like alot of people have forgotten about him.

His horn.

What is up with that? Is he suppose to blow that when he arrives? And those spirits, what exactly are they? The spirits of the fallen? Things to come? Who knows. As well their name, Meeps. Such an odd name to give something. It has this cute charm and gives me an image of cute little creatures, such as the one Bard has. but surely they must have a reason, something to give us a clue as to why they appear.

But back to his horn.

Look at it, its plugged by what seems to me, a Meep. I thought this horn was to symbolize Bard's arrival, but perhaps he calls upon the Meeps by the horn. If this isn't the case, why does he have a horn to begin with? Could the horn be the source of all his magical powers. Does he use it to go through dimensions? Can he travel threw time with it?

So many questions and so little answers.

I think it is the right time to get a champion like Bard into the League - because a guy like Darius needs to get his ass kicked, sorry for my language... But nice lore, i like it!
