Kinda disappointed in Riot

I spent yesterday at Kennedy Space center. The place was crowded like disney but it was the 50th anniversary of the landing on the moon, one of mankind's greatest achievements so I understand that. So I log into LOL today and all I see is a letdown by riot.

Did riot do anything at for the event? STEM is pretty big riot now and did riot do anything to promote the fact that it can literally get you to the moon?

  • Was there a sale on the astronaut teemo and naut skins?
  • Where there new skins based on the moon or the moon landing? We could have had a moon rock malaphite, or a lunar syndra or orianna skin, or a jinx or ashe skin that shot a saturn V rocket as their ult.
  • Was there some kind of competitive race to the moon event going on?
  • Was there a cooperative event where the players had until the 20th to hit a milestone or point total to get an icon?
  • Did riot do anything at all to mark one of the biggest things that ever happened?

Nope.

So I want to ask why. Riot, why did you let this once in a lifetime marketing and sales opportunity pass you by? You've got a bunch of kids from around the world playing this game, and you could have easily used this event to encourage STEM and history. Since you guys weren't going to do pool party this year you could have easily done a Lunar event for the current patch and released project a patch or two later.

EDIT: for contrast Steam has sales going on for no man's sky, kerbal space program, space engineers and something called astronauteer on the front of the store sale page.
