If Zoe is at level of Aurelion Sol, why did they need to trick him?

Fasmodey·11/8/2017, 6:34:13 PM·11 votes·5,618 views

Zoe is just "Messenger of Targon". Now imagine "Spear of Targon". Zoe at Aurelion Sol level means whole Targon could make Aurelion Sol their bitch.

Couldn't they just force him to bow, and threat with death?

Then I remember, Targon was feared of Aurelion Sol and they still are according to Aurelion Sol, as he felt fear when his magic got weakened. Why would they feel fear if they are that strong? And why would they need to trick a being that they could fuck up?

Aspects of Targon being so powerful makes no sense.

Edit: Why did I make this thread? That's why.

Aurelion Sol power level is not shouldn't be even conceivable by Targon (If they retcon Aurelion Sol powers that will be the last drop).

The only reason he obeys their will is because they made it so a star of his creation would die the moment a Targonian gets killed. They are hella right to fear Aurelion Sol because they pissed him so much that having him free would mean their instantaneous extinction... And the chains are weakening.

Maybe that she is at his level because Aurelion has the crown that limits his power and lets the Targonians "control" him.

Maybe the most powerful targonians were on Aurelion Sol's power level the entire time. The need to trick Aurelion Sol doesn't have to mean that they are weaker than him.

Aurelion Sol is not weak in his will. If they are as powerful as him and threaten him if he doesn't obey, he probably would still refuse. And a dead Aurelion Sol isn't useful for them in any way. They need his specific powers. And tricking him to obey was probably the best way to do so without having any losses.

The Targon lore is crap and makes no sense. I think I've been saying that for months now. Just try and roll with it, or stop reading it.

Kindlejack said she was Asol levels of strong. And Asol isn't at his full strength, due to the fact he is imprisoned by the Targonians. So, Zoe is as strong as a weakened Asol.

She is not at his level at all. Aurelion could wipe them all out if they didn't trick him.

She might be simply far more powerful than most other targonians.

I mean she seems to be not simply a messenger of Targon, but THE messenger of targon, above her are possibly only very few aspects(and they may not even be stronger than zoe, just smarter)

Heck she could even be the strongest aspect, who simply has a rather low position thanks to her immatureness.

Sorry, I haven't read the other comments, so I don't know if this has been said.

Anyway, as far as I know, the Targon Empire got a lot of its power through stars. The theory that I buy into is that the Aspects (the actual ones, not the hosts ones like Pantheon and Leona) are like Ascended beings, but done far more efficiently. This would mean that they got much of their power indirectly through Sol. It's possible that, with Sol under their reins, they were able to Ascend even further, or their Ascension got better, and they are now on Sol's level as long as he's under their control.

they didn't just beat up ASol and now he works for them they tricked him through his own hubris

From what I understand, the Targonian aspects could be as powerful as Sol, but they need hosts to do work in the universe, hosts who can only hold so much power within them.

So the Aspect of the Sun(or solar light maybe? No idea how this works for non-runeterra worlds) could be capable of having a shot at fighting and winning against Sol(but can lose against him too), but Leona cannot as, while she is the aspect of the sun, she only has a fraction of the power.

If this is true, then Zoe, an aspect that can open a way into the universe without a host, would have all of her power. Which means she can fight Sol and have a chance at winning(though with all the stars flying about, I doubt it would be as easy for her to do so as she pretends).

And don't forget, Sol is still shackled by Targon. So even if Zoe is close to his power level, but wouldn't have a chance to win in a fair fight... it isn't a fair fight. With the star crown that is his shackle, every action against Targon that Sol makes costs him dearly. It would be like a Matador fighting a bull. In bull fights, the bull is often weakened in some way(ranging from injuries to things to set off its balance and ability to react), just like how Sol's crown kills off one of his stars(which he refers to his hearts) when he acts against Targon.

If a full on aspect, not one of the hosts, could not take on a foe who stabbed themselves with every attack they brought against them, then that would be rather anti-climatic.

As for why they had to trick him, just listen to Zoe's Vo. Would you want to trust someone like that with an important mission if you could help it? I wouldn't. And as presumably all the other aspects have to work though hosts, they had no one who was strong enough(and reliable enough) to subdue the space dragon through brute force. So they used trickery.

TL;DR AurelionSol - Injured and shackled, does not have access to his full power and kills part of himself every time he fights Targon. Diana Leona Taric Pantheon - Hosts of Aspects that have considerable power, but don't hold a candle to the full power of the Aspects that they host. Zoe - Full on aspect that has the power to poke herself through dimensions, does not need a host and therefor has her full power. Is childish and irresponsible so she isn't relied upon unless it's necessary

Power levels Sol ≥ Aspects Sol > Hosts Chained Sol > Hosts Chained Sol ≤ Aspects(with the only aspect known to be able to fight him in person and not through a host being Zoe)

Some people are so powerful because they are so good at tricks.

Ralanr11/8/2017, 8:10:51 PM1 votes

Well I can think of two reasons:

  1. She was not always on the same level of strength. She got stronger over time.

  2. She simply doesn’t care about Targon enough to actually fight for them. She barely focuses on her job.

Alternatively Riot could mean she’s on the same level of power as enslaved Sol, but not the Sol that the Targonians first met.

Ralanr11/8/2017, 8:41:10 PM1 votes

Another reason: collateral damage.

Cryo0011/8/2017, 11:12:35 PM1 votes

Yeah, even I am confused on this. No way an aspect is even close to being as strong as Sol, who killed the previous Aspect of War as collateral damage.

Where is it stated that Zoe is AurelionSol level? I understand that yeah, their power would be similar in proportionality since its both celestial magic they're using, but Zoe's powers are much closer to Bard opposed to AurelionSol's destructive capability.

We can't assume all Targonian's Aspects/ warriors 'are' or 'above' Zoe's supposed OP level yet, she may simply be the 'Lux' in Targon's army.

Then I remember, Targon was feared of Aurelion Sol and they still are according to Aurelion Sol, as he felt fear when his magic got weakened. Why would they feel fear if they are that strong?

Power =/= defense. Just because they have access to cataclysmic powers doesn't mean they can't themselves be oneshot by the same power.
