The mystery that is Nautilus

So, Nautilus has been in the dark for a long while in terms of story. However he has had small, almost cameo like appearances in more recent stories, such as when it was mentioned that he himself managed to hold off a large part of the Harrowing one year all on his own. But with the recent preview of Illaoi on the wiki, it explains that Nautilus is an enemy to her. Apparently she harbors a hatred for everything that is undead, as it is considered defilement of her god's ways. While it is no real secret that Nautilus is probably undead, it does open up some interesting questions that could be expanded upon: Is Nautilus undead like those from the Shadow Isles? Or is he something different, possibly pertaining to his suit? Is he a special enemy to Illaoi due to being an undead creature from the oceans? What is he doing now? Does still care for Bilgewater from when he was a sailor, or does he hold unto little to no memory whatsoever?

I for one, would love to see Nautilus be built upon as a character. I feel that he could have some interesting relationships with other champions, and the large mystery surrounding his current condition could also have some sort of story built around it. To be honest, Nautilus is probably going to be left in the dark for a while. The only people who really care about the ol' Titan anymore are me and the four other people in League who play him frequently.
