Is General Du’Couteau coming soon?

So with alot of the lore changes recently, and some strange interactions in the Legends of Runterra Game. There is a AD melee carry champion releasing later next year. With how they finally brought back senna to lucian. Do you think they might advance the storyline of Noxus champions with having him return as a champion to the league of legends rooster?

Refer to video, the card “Legion General” For some more context. 20:30

Champions that are close to other champions in the lore are more likely to released. We've been seeing this trend recently with Kai'Sa and Senna. It's not just that these champions are fan-service. They not only create a separate champion, but they resolve plot points with pre-existing ones and give them new goals and let old players see their champ in a new light. We're seeing this in Lucian right now.

Talon entire reason for existing is to find DuCouteau. Katarina still has daddy issues to resolve. Cassiopeia probably too.

He's allies with high ranking Noxians like Darius and Swain. He even supported his regime when Swain took down Darkwill. Which from Cassiopeias' bio we can tell made him an enemy of the Black Rose. Who could conceivably have been who are responsible for his disappearance. Why attach all these "story hooks" to the guy if he's dead and that's the end of it? He WILL come some day. With how much teasing he's been getting from the Swain VGU/Cassiopeia Bio/Black Rose stories I'd say sooner rather than later.

Ofc gameplay comes first with a designer deciding what kind of champ should be made and then the ideas get thrown around. Kai'Sa earliest concept art show her as a Zaunite merc and a Lucian-type Purifier man. I think DuCouteau is likely to become a champion, the thing is first a workable kit has to be approved and fit the character for the him to get slipped in the game.

Who knows maybe he's the edgy solo laner coming next year?

Do I think General Du'Couteau is going to be a champion in League? I think it's very plausible.

Would I like him to be? I'd rather he not. I think League needs more stand-out, unique, and impressionable (and not dead) secondary characters. I think having strong secondary characters is important to make the League World feel larger and important. If anybody who's anybody is made a champion, it makes the world feel smaller. Legends of Runeterra has done more to advance League's cast of secondary characters through card art, interactions, and flavor text than League proper and the Universe page has done in YEARS.

I wouldn't say anything yet. I got baited a lot of times in the past, and won't make random predictions until I see the next roadmap.

I do believe that Riot (or Vodka) wanted to make this "Legion General" the General DuCouteau, but they decided to not for some reason.

It's possible that the Legion general was originally supposed to be Du'Couteau, but the concept was scrapped.

This might simply mean that Riot plans to make him a champion eventually, but it doesn't mean that they have him currently in development.

After all if they had made him a card now, then they would have needed to settle on a design for him already and making him a champion would become more complicated, since they would need to adjust his card if he gets released, so simply renaming the card to make it some random general, allows them more freedom when they are eventually going to make Du'Couteau a champ(or if they ever include him in a comic or something like this).

I am still hoping here that the new "edgy solo lane carry" will be the first chembaron champion.
