@Riot - Why did you go from Alien Invaders to Corrupted Ascended? It's bad.
The Darkin (LAST YEAR) were set up as alien forces trying to invade, and being repelled by the ancient humans. This was a fantastic story, and told a lot about the ingenuity of humans and also left some open doors for the universe outside of Runterra. It also gave ample explanation on why Darkin looked so different and why they behaved so differently than other beings in the world. They were unique, they had a whole different outlook on the world, and they were fit in such a way into the existing lore that made them mythological.
Now, you've gone back to "ERMAGHAD, DA VOID CORRUPTS ALL!" and made them plain, boring, corrupted god-mortals. This greatly diluted the air of power and awesomeness the old Darkin had, and made them just more mundane god-beings on Runeterra, that were born on Runeterra. It stripped all of their uniqueness away from them, and stripped all of the myth from their original war story where the invasion was repelled by humans. You rewrote lore that wasn't even a year old, which is again, a huge red flag that shows us your recent disregard and lack of direction for the narrative.
These new stories are written well, don't get me wrong. The pacing is great, and the actual structure is good. But the content is just wrong, and so bad for the world as we understood it. You took a great theme of stranded aliens who are bent on revenge, and turned it into mortals trapped in weapons wanting power back. This was a horrible direction. You also made Zoe completely and utterly sadistic and your characterization of her in that story is just so disconnected from how you've built her in the lore and game. She's happy and peppy in the game, with not the slightest hint of sadism or maliciousness. She's goofy, she's blissfully oblivious for the mischief she's causing, and she's much more lighthearted - and then you go and turn her into this cold-blooded god killer which makes ZERO sense.
Get your shit together Riot. Your narrative is starting to unravel really badly, and your team is starting to contradict existing things left and right. Get a plan, stick to that plan. Understand your characters and how they exist in the world and build other things in relation to what already exists. Don't keep revising and retconning the lore every you have a whim. You're supposed to be building a world, not destroying it and reinventing every other day.
