I'm going to come right out and say it: Aphelios and Alune look Chinese. Makes sense from the perspective of a business perspective. It's unpleasant to me, but I understand and respect it.

Asian features tend more toward people of Ionian descent. I worry that this won't be explained in the lore and we're supposed to take it at face value, but it doesn't make sense in universe. Mount Targon is very, very, very far from Ionia. Will we get flavor text like a journal of an Ionian traveler crossing all of Shurima in hopes of finding answers in the stars? League's been doing really well with writing a cohesive and interesting world, but if the visual design doesn't follow, what's the point?

I see it too but in a world of magic it's really not hard to believe that there is a variety of appearances for the general populace of each city-state. I mean we have dark skinned people throughout Demacia, Bilgewater, and Zaun. We have fair skinned people in Shurima no doubt burning to death under the sun disc. Just detach your real world bias and embrace the FANTASY of Runeterra.
