Super Galaxy Skins Deconstructed

First off, I'd like to say that overall, this new batch of Super Galaxy Skins seem to be less inspired by the mecha genre. Instead, I'm seeing that Riot is paying homage to super sentai, the Japanese equivalent of the superhero troupe, shows like power rangers, gatchaman, kamen rider, and more recently Tiger & Bunny. While this may be disappointing to some, I'm personally perfectly fine with this. Now, I'm going to try and pick apart specific inspirations from the skins.

I'm seeing three different reference materials in particular here.

First off, Lamb's body structure is very reminiscent of the EVAs from Neon Genesis Evangelion. A slender mech, rather than a war machine.

Wolf seems to be inspired by Transformers, which have boxier designs and even then the head seems like that of one of Michael Bay's Transformers.

Kindred's head, while it's mostly wishful thinking, reminds me of the Gatchaman franchise, particularly the reboot, Gatchaman Crowds, just in the way there's sort of a screen.

Fizz's design seems to be the most heavily inspired by the super sentai genre. The shark reminds me of something like a zord, in particular.

Shyvana seems to resemble a villain from a super sentai series, as the dragon resembles something of a zord, although in my opinion it looks a lot like the Bakugan dragonoid if anyone remembers that series.

Super Galaxy Kindred's analysis is the most complete because we have both the splash art and the actual model to go off of, while I can't seem to find Super Galaxy Shyvana's splash art, and Super Galaxy Fizz's models are technically incomplete.
