So about Jhins lore
Where in all of that does Garen, Sona, Vi and Zed come in? I mean Zed of course makes sense but what the hell was the point of the teasers if there isnt going to be some kind of connection or explanation?

Garen and Vi were chosen more so for a bit of variety in the teasers rather than anything concrete lorewise. Jhin is aware of their existence, and the promo shows how he'd envision their deaths, but he hasn't come in contact with them.
Sona is one of Runeterra's most famous artists, and Jhin's a man who likes to "take care" of his opposition in that regard. He's not a fan of competition. Again he likely hasn't met her but she's someone who you could consider to be on his list so to speak; if he had all the free time in the world to kill anyone he wanted, Sona would be on that list. Definetly not as high as Shen or Zed, but she'd be high enough to be cause for concern on her part.
