People have got Aurelion Sol all wrong

So, one of the perennial lore discussion topics is the true size of Aurelion Sol. When he was first revealed to us, trailer footage showed him crushing a star in the palm of his hand, and images showed his face filling the whole sky. This initially led people to think he was the size of a planet, or a star system or even a galaxy. For instance, one user calculated his length to be 16.4 million miles: https://boards.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/story-art/vVyJObqE-aurelion-sols-size-with-calculations

However, it's reasonable to assume that Sol's portrayal in the initial trailer and images was just artistic license to hype him up. If he was really bigger than Runeterra, he wouldn't be able to enter Runeterra's atmosphere and visit Mount Targon as he does in the lore.

Last week, someone started a thread in which he calculated Sol's true size from his splash art. From his calculations, he estimated that Sol's upper body is over 1 mile high: https://boards.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/story-art/8kVMWtEb-aurelion-sol-is-massive-but-not-as-massive-as-you-think

However, I think that even this estimate is too big. The calculation is based on splash art, but let's not forget that splash art often take huge creative liberties because it's supposed to be impressionistic rather than realistic. A better measure of Sol's size would be found in his color story. And in that story there is a key line. In the third paragraph, Sol describes the Shuriman Sun Disc as "massive".

Now the word "massive" is usually reserved for objects that are larger than oneself, and Sol, being as arrogant as he is, would probably only use the word "massive" in such a scenario. So it is highly likely that the Sun Disc is much bigger than Sol.

But how big is the Sun Disc? Well, you can see for yourself:

As you can see, the Sun Disc is big, but it doesn't look like it's over 1 mile in diameter. It looks more like the size of a fort. Yet, apparently, it still dwarfs Sol for him to call it massive.

Given all the other details, such as the fact that humans have difficulty discerning Sol's form when he is flying (so he must appear quite small to them), it seems reasonable to conclude that Sol is probably much smaller than he appears in his early promo art, and is closer in size to, say, a jumbo jet, like in this awesome fan art:

This would mean that if scaled correctly in the game, Sol would probably only be around double his current in-game size. Any thoughts welcome.

i prefer the idea that a dragon that can create stars can alter his size instead of having 1 fixed size

https://imgur.com/rkymJuV Id say splasharts are the best way (after lore) to judge a champion's size. Splasharts are based on the champion's lore. That's why Rammus splashart is in a desert: he lives in Shurima in his lore. Ornn has an owl on his horn in his splashart to show how massive he actually is, just like his story says, and so on...

Eh, we call subatomic particles "massive."

I think the trailers are pretty accurate if you take a good look at them.

First of all I present you "Homecoming":

Taliyah's coming home finding the Sundisc rivaling the actual Sun in the sky and in the end you can see that its size is close to the picture you posted even if proportion might be a bit exaggerated for the sake of epicness.

Then we have the Star Forger Returns:

You can see that starting spark of the star he after shatters in his palm flying across a section of Mount Targon and being rather small compared to the ruins around, Aurelion Sol isn't that far away from the mountain himself , it's just that his body melts with the starry sky. I think we can consider his size as half of the entire Mount Targon:

My take on the matter is purely intuitive and I'd trust far more ppl making calculation based on something more easily (and safely) comparable as Aurelion Sol splash art.
