And some of them don't even fit the theme. Battle Boss Yasuo doesn't even look like a battle boss, nor does he look like he belongs in the arcade skin line.

Liking nonsexy champs is rough... I main Rammus and his last 2 skins since like 2013 I think (after Guardian of the Sands) have been a seasonal sports skin and the 10 gemstone hextech... give me Worldbreaker Rammus or something cool that I can buy for a reasonable price without $200 of loot boxes...
Akali got a third skin this year? I only remember PROJECT and now TD.

in fact the same goes for yasuo and most other champs. most champs who have an excess amount of skins are either close to 10 years old (like akali) or very new and will most likely go through a dry patch afterwards as their novelty drops (ie.: what happened to jhin).
that aside y'all only care and complain when you don't like the champs so you don't really deserve shit.

why wouldn't they get skins? Again if 2 million people buy a Yasuo skin and 100k, if that, buy a maokai skin, why make as many Maokai skins when no one wants them? They lose money and don't make as many players happy with the Maokai skin.

A new skin for; Cho'Gath, Skarner, Xerath, Vel'Koz, Kled, Nautilus, Zilean and Trundle TOGETHER wouldn't amount as much income for Riot as a single Kai'sa skin. Even if they were all absolutely dope and the Kai'sa skin was a dump-tier meme skin.

and let me tell you, me and another guy named Canastus had been begging Riot for a skin for 3 years, and only then did they make Eternum Cass, which tbh isn't even a high quality skin. It's like the Illaoi skin they made, it was only made because people kept begging for one.
LoL has a large enough roster of champions for Riot to keep going round and round, and make skins only for those popular ones.

I'm fine with this because riot needs to make money. Champs that sell a lot of skins need to have more just so long as riot doesn't over-saturate the market with them.

Vel'koz hasn't had a new skin since 3 years ago, he only has 3 skins. Ezreal and lux are taking the spotlight and riot knows and doesn't care. if it makes them money to give ezreal 17 skins they'll do it.
The simple answer is that Yasuo is more popular than those 4 champions put together and thus sells way better. Even a mediocre Yasuo skin sells more than an amazing Vel'Koz, Cho'Gath or Kog'Maw skin. Kha'Zix might come close though, he's played a lot but I don't know how popular he is as a character.
Problem is that the meta of certain champions is what defines what skins come out. While Riot has many talented artists they use their talent to just develop art for the same character. Instead of making second musical skin that represents something different they waste it on True Damage, which is just K/DA but it isn't Korean styled, and more rap related. Hell, they used Akali again for it, which confirms your case.
I made a post a while ago hoping for something like this but more like Visual Kei, which for those who are unaware, is a alternative rock style from Japan. (Note it has many different styles, and therefore can be differentiated from the Pentakill skin line.)
The funny part here is that Akali only really got popular after they released her KDA skin. Prior to that, I'd never see people lining up to buy her skins.
It's literally the KDA line which threw her out there and Riot's now milking the cow that's Akali with every new skin lineup. Had they used a different character there and done the rebellious persona right, we'd probably have seen another champion selling popular skins.
As a Vel'Koz main, I am screaming internally.
