Seriously... she has always been the closest thing we had in the game to a real Ninja... I mean Kennen is what people who only know Ninjas from Naruto think Ninjas are like... flashy, loud and in your face...

But Akali was always true to the concept, go in, kill, then disapear in smoke. Well executed.

But her clothes... Seriously WTF... in her old Skin, her boobs were always about to fall out of her "shirt"... just as bad as these big titty Ninjas without bras in fighter games... seriously what the hell...

Now at least her boos are not falling out any more but... Honestly? A Ninja with easy recogniseable Tattoos all over her body, and all she is wearing is a piece of cloth over her boobs, hold with some strings? These Tattoos are a sure way to make EVERYONE who sees her recognise her. Which is the worst thing that could happen to a Ninja.

See Shen? Even though he is a freaking TANK NINJA, his clothes are what Ninjas should be shown in. dark blue, covers the whole Body, allows to carry tools, but also for free movement.

Seriously, will RIOT ever get Ninjas right?

Few things, first off, they don't want to go for the stereotypical ninja, it has been done to death.

Second, you say that her original form wasn't very ninja like when it was actually incredibly ninja like. That is what Kunoichis were, they tempted men with their looks and guile then went in for the kill. So the whole, breast out thing actually fits quite well.

I ninja is a farmer spy with a legend intentionally built around them to instill fear. That's literally it. Is that what you want riot to make?

Ninjas don't really have a specific general look to them, they can wear and be pretty much whatever they want. Unlike samurais that wear armor for combat, ninjas need to either have the clothing to hold/hide their weapons or allow for swift and fluid movements.

Infact a ninja is less likely to look like a stereotypical ninja to avoid obviously announcing they're a ninja. They usually disguise as priest or even fortune tellers. You could make akali a clown and she'd still just be a ninja in disguise.

akali seems to have the barrel for her weapons, and the clothing to let her move around fast. Even lore wise akali is independant.

did you know real ninjas didn even used smoke? they used disguises, secret doors, and explosives, a real ninja nowdays is like secret agents or undercover agents, so, i say fantasy ninjas at this point can be whatever people want them to be, theres even space ninjas using samurai swords and no one bats an eye, but god forbids someone tries to be creative with a more "traditional" ninja cuz that might be heresy against peoples childhood expectations of what a ninja should be.

No. She’s the closest thing we have in the game to the modernized concept of a ninja romanticized after Japan moved away from the former romanticization of the samurai before they both were reclaimed to glorify a fictionalized version of Japan’s past after WWII.

Here is a very easy way to determine that. Does the ninja have one of those silly masks? Then it is not like a real ninja.

Now I get not liking the design. Totally honest, I’m not big on tattoos myself. Think they look silly.

But she looks just as ridiculous for her supposed job of espionage and scouting now as she did before.

That's kind of the whole thing, to be an insult, some sort of sign of rebellion against her order. While most of the Ninjas wear the robes, she wears her own style, while still wearing the mask, as the ultimate "fuck you I can do this thing better" saying. Btw, you also forgot that Ninjas wore different costumes for missions, not the darkish Blue and Black robes, so Riot got that right. You're right, it's an insult to Ninjas, a really direct one. That's the point.

I just don't like how they changed her to basically just ninja Xayah (Her quotes are boring to listen to unless they're the Jhin interactions)
