The voice is bad enough, not really fitting the game (theme), and the phrases are worse, and distracting.
If you're going to be making more voiceovers, make the original still an option. I'm not against a "male" announcer.
Yes, some like the new voice, and great for them, but it makes it hard for me to play and have it muted, or play with the new voice....
I'd almost prefer my champion commenting on events.
Ok, I just looked. There is no option if you want to switch it off from the client, but if you start a game and go the bottom of the Sound page, there should be a check box to disable the custom announcer. (I had to wait on the updates to download, since I usually play from a gaming cafe, not from home).

Actually... there is an option to use the default announcer. Instructions to turn it off pops up in the chat box as soon as the game starts.
