Diana needs new Splash Art and ingame Quotes that will fit her new lore and personality

I saw such thread on reddit like week ago so decided to bring it here so more people will discuss about it or maybe someone from RIOT will see it

With new lore Diana isn't anymore vengeful emo/goth/psycho(?) that seeks to murder all Solari and those who say that Sun > Moon. Her new lore gave her better story and character. She isn't anymore pure evil and villainous dark character.

She is now demigod, Aspect of the Moon and she seeks to bring balance and peace to Mt.Targon and make everyone understand that Moon isn't source of evil. Not to mention that she is protector of the night. She fight with evil creatures (Void invaders) that appear during night in Mt.Targon area.

She and Leona may also be crucial characters in the incoming conflict with Aurelion Sol and will help avoid Armageddon/destruction of Runeterra.

**Splash Art **

  1. Diana was appalled/terrified when she realized what she done (killed Solari Elders and PWNED Leona when her powers/rage/<spirits of previous Lunari> taken control over her) while on her current splash art she look quite satisfied from the massacre she done
  2. Diana in her new lore didn't destroyed Solari temple just killed Elders (she wasn't herself when that happen) and then ran away while on splash art we see that Solari temple got heavily destroyed and soon will collapse
  3. In her new lore she don't wish to destroy Solari but to bring balance/peace/unity "Diana has only one truth to cling to — that the Lunari and the Solari need not be foes, that there is a greater destiny for her than that of a simple warrior."
  4. She have also have her second mission: to fight those monsters/terrors/void invaders that appear during night

Maybe on new splash art Diana could be:

  • fighting those terrors/monsters/voidlings (it would fit her Jungler role)
  • meditating during full moon in one of those plateaus filled with Lunari marks: "At the center of the plateau was a circle of towering stones, each carved with looping spirals and curving sigils. On every stone Diana saw the same rune that shimmered upon her forehead"
  • praying/praising the moon on top of Mt.Targon - similar to her recall animation

new splash art also could be nice opportunity to give her more "human" skin color. Less pale as dead but more delicate light skin color

Quote/voice

her current quotes TOTALLY don't match her new character/personalty: "Bring down the sun."? "Ignorant thralls!"? "Deny me no longer!"? "They leave me no choice."? "Follow no false light."? She don't want to **destroy **Solari and **force **everyone to believe in Moon and forget about Sun. She want people of Mt.Targon to believe in both Sun and Moon and that powers of both will make them stronger. "They could not break me." In old lore Elders punished Diana every time she mentioned about Moon "(...) The Solari elders responded to her challenges with only derision and punishment. (...)" but this didn't happen in new lore. People just ignored Diana more and more the older she became since they saw her as outcast (even her childhood friends started avoiding her) but she haven't talked with anyone about that she liked night and moon. Overall her current quotes focus on ignoring sun, bringing night (even eternal), everyone accepting her no matter what, being proud of what she done (killing Solari Elders), etc which is totally opposite to NEW Diana

If RIOT won't change her ingame quotes than this will be quite big fail. I totally would love if she get new quotes and maybe some hidden interaction with Diana, Leona, Taric (if he will become new Targonian), Aurelion Sol, Pantheon, Illaoi, Tahm, Warwick (you know.. wolfs howl during full moon), Nasus and few other champs

Friends/Allies

nuff said. Diana needs friend and/or allies ;_; RIOT please don't make her forever alone.

If Syndra can have Zed as friend (totally not changed because of certain fan manga) then Diana deserves some friends/allies even not from Mt.Targon zone

She wasn't evil, she was pretty bloody tragic. Revealed her discoveries to the Solari with pride and they cooped her up, tortured her and tried to execute her. Didn't they say that the mark on her forehead was a traitor's brand and the black around her eyes were sears from boiling tears shed during her torture? Sounds a lot more dramatic :P

Diana definately does not need a new splash art or any update of this kind, she was made after march 2012 , the champions who get updated on their visuals /splash arts are all those that were made before march 2012

What the hell are you talking about? Her new lore didn't add anything to her personality. She's still an introverted badass. You just got the wrong impression from the current splash and when she revealed the Lunari's existence to the Solari then she was immediately sentenced to death so all her lines are appropriate.

Her new lore gave her better story and character. She isn't anymore pure evil and villainous dark character.

She was never evil and her lore barely changed. "Diana found out the Lunari existed. Solari willingly refuse to accept it and try to kill Diana who instead kills them. Diana is shunned. The end."

And in-case you didn't notice, the splash art is propably situated in the second part of her lore where she kneels to unlock a portal from the void to fight the creatures within.

Honestly, I think the Targon even really botched existing characters. Pantheon became a boring personality-less star asshole using somebody's meat as a fancy human suit, Leona became a fucking inquisitor with no mercy in her cold heart to anybody who dares question her, and Diana became a tragic hero of sorts.

I really hope they don't botch Taric too and turn him into a piece of wood with a frowny face drawn on it.

I don't know bro, as a Diana main with close to 300 games with her I defiantly like the splash and I think it still fits her. She may not want war, but she is also the embodiment of the moon's cold power. Also, her lines still fit her pretty well. I think if anything the new skin will be a major improvement, especially after 2 and a half years of no skins despite her being a pretty influential champ in season 5. I mean Galio has twice the skins that Diana has and he's only been out a year and a half longer than her, despite having less than 1% of the League community play him actively.

Pantheon needs this way worse.

Old Pantheon was "dude with a stick who is really good at hitting things with the stick"

Now he's an ancient God of War, using a mortal as his vessel. But he's still got the pizza feet, he's still got his octagon shield, and he still talks like the goofy 300 reference he is.

I'm assuming English isn't your first language. Try to recognize the difference between do not/don't and does not/doesn't.

I agree with everything you said and I thought the same when the lore came out. It would be possible to create a new splash art, but I am afraid that creating a new vo for her isn't an option. The work it'd take to do is probably too much when compared with the urgency of the update.

I hope someday she gets a new vo, but it'll be a while. Got my upvote.

Actually I think the splash is fine.

Diana alone, sitting in solitude, a woman without any equals (To her knowledge) and having to think all to herself.

Has Riot ever given a champion a new VO out of the blue? The give VU's, gameplay updates, ability icons, and splash arts but VO's?

If Kassadin Alistar didn't receive a a VO, why should Diana?

I mean Alistar has 7 in game lines. And Kassadin has 9.

I'm just assuming that she's being led by whatever force overtook her. So while she may be very against destroying the Solari, the force inside her might not feel the same way.

I get the impression Diana's a lot more Stannis than she is Joker or Melisandre.
