Please just dont make him corrupted by Void or something ancient evil things. His new story is amazing, he's cruel, brutal, powerful, scary. Gaining more power when he kills, he's more like war deity.
Nah, He (it?) is not void corrupted in that story, nor is cosmic horror a part of his thematic direction.
No worries... other than a building sized monster bear that make you forget civilization and your humanity.
What about something the Watchers attempted to corrupt, but that just made him even more pissed and out for their heads(?)

I really dont think this is the direction they are going towards. The most believable theory I saw was a potential Voli VS Cho battle and even that seemed a bit far fetched.
I thought it was obvious that the thing wasn’t actually Volibear.
Dont worry, he is just your average Lovecraftian Outer God going Rampage when summoned and making you loose your mind, personality and body
